Keep estate cleaner

I AM deeply concerned about the state of cleanliness in my HDB housing estate, which comes under the jurisdiction of the Aljunied Town Council.
Despite the rise in service and conservancy charges this year, there has been no noticeable improvement in the general cleanliness of common areas such as void decks.
Encountering pests such as cockroaches and rats is not uncommon. The extent of infestation is most evident after thermal fogging, which is performed once in a long while and always leaves the void decks littered with dead cockroaches.
Most recently, the void deck of a particular block was scrubbed thoroughly over the weekend in anticipation of a visit by Member of Parliament Cynthia Phua. Otherwise, cleaning is an annual ritual.
Clearly, the estate cannot be thoroughly cleaned only once a year. There is a need to maintain clean and hygienic living conditions at all times. Merely discouraging littering does not completely alleviate the problem as dirt would still accumulate.
I urge the relevant authorities to step up efforts to upkeep the estate.

I guess Aljunied Town Council will no longer be around after this election. The same story like Cheng San.

too many floor traps. adalso we getting floor traps to clean shit left over by floor traps. so all the inions of floor traps come out to the light.

My area is also very dirty too.
Recently they spray the smoke into the rubbish chute and scores of roaches came running out and some even climb to as high as 20th storey...all cockroaches lying here and there, some even kicking and running! What the hack is the Town Council men are doing?

I am in the area where she visited over the weekend, they did chute fumigation the week before. I'm sure if someone gased your home, you'll find all means to get the fark out of it.

Yes thanks, chute fumigation.Blanga workers should tape the chute every floor to prrvent the cockroaches from getting out.
And only my neighbours call up the Town Council then they start to take a look.
Very irresponsible.
And yet we pay T and C so high every month!

Mine is outside, but never rec any notice about chute fumigation.They should let the public know in advance so that owners like Tr'Qlice will tape it to prevent those creatures crawling into the house.

The town council did sent notice to us a few days in advance. Then we have to do our work to tape the chute. -
