EVERY year, about 100 foreign maids here are sent home because they are pregnant - and this number could be far higher, if not for an unknown number who abort their babies in order to keep their jobs.
Maid agencies and social workers say some go for abortions on the quiet, or sometimes, with their employers' consent.

Pregnant maids: Hold the men liable as well
OBVIOUSLY, maids who work part-time or get pregnant are blatantly contravening the work permit conditions governing their employment in Singapore ('100 pregnant maids sent home a year', Sept 29; and the Ministry of Manpower's reply, 'Why it's wrong to let maids work part-time'; Oct7).
So more punitive measures should be adopted against them as well as their abettors.
Migrant female workers, especially maids, are vulnerable to temptation because they usually carry a heavy financial burden and emotional baggage, like being separated from their families or having to deal with philandering husbands back home.
In seeking superficial love or prostituting themselves for quick money, they throw caution to the wind, hoping to escape the consequences of their acts.
Apart from repatriation, many may also experience the trauma of abortions.
The Ministry of Manpower should impose stiff penalties on the men who cause such pregnancies.
Work pass holders who make maids pregnant should have their passes cancelled as well.
Surely, the fairer and more effective solution is to hold both parties liable.

women are more vulnerable in this issue.. while the guys who caused the pregnancy can remain in Singapore and live life as usual!

sorry but i am not interested in all maids due to the nationality. i find they are also attention seekers. know where got llonely single youngmen or old men they try to seduce, benddown their backside this and that. but they don;t know that singapore man are not swuaku and we know what nationalisty girls and women are beautiful people. this type of beautiful people seduce us we will get reaction. but those maids with current nationalistis you just take a look at them they do this we can report police for sexual harrasment and voyeurism. how then will i even mate with them? come on, not all sgmen are so cheap.
maybe we should have more maids from japan korea and taiwan?

My area has tons of indonesian and phillipinos maids, they are really maids...you see them you wont feel high or horny.
Yes not all sgmen are cheap.

I prefer china maid or vietnam maid, must be better looking than indo or phil.

i also look forward to the day we get american maids. just keep prayin for them . whaoo imagine taiwan japan korea and americas maids. then those other nationalities maids will know that their good lives working in foreign country is over.
don;t say maid look at thos eotehr profesion oones. tell methe truth you look at them willyou get high everyday?

I think you guys need to wake up. If get a maid so pretty, how to bear to let them do housework! It would work against us isn't it.
