Hawker thief nabbed

  A 42-YEAR-OLD man was arrested on Thursday in connection with a series of break-ins and theft at hawker centres around Singapore.

  Several break-ins and theft cases were reported at hawker centres located at Holland Drive, Jalan Bukit Merah, Pasir Panjang and Tiong Bahru housing estates.

  The stolen items included cash and cigarettes, amounting to about S$600.

  Police arrested the suspect around the Jalan Bukit Merah vicinity.

  The suspect will be charged in court on Saturday.
