He is God, God of Singapore, thus he "needs" to live forever.
He has been living with power, authority, fame, wealth, tyranny and so and so and if he retires he will not live for long. Seems he feeds on all these to live.
He is not indispensable. Perhaps Singapore will be much better without him.
