FOUR men were arrested by police within an hour after they had robbed a 40-year-old man on Thursday morning.
The victim was walking at the carpark near Block 55 Lengkok Bahru at 1am on Thursday when he was approached by one of the suspects who asked him to buy a beer.
The victim declined and walked away but was suddenly grabbed and hit by two others who snatched his bag before fleeing with another two men who were nearby. The victim reported the incident to the police.
Within minutes, officers from Clementi Police Division tracked down the suspects at the void deck of Block 48 Lengkok Bahru after a search of the area. The victim's bag, containing his personal belongings, was recovered nearby.
Two of the suspects, aged 15 and 16, will be charged in court on Friday for robbery with hurt, which carries a maximum jail term of of 20 years and at least 12 strokes of the cane. The remaining two suspects will be released on bail pending further investigations.
