SINGAPORE state investment firm Temasek said on Thursday its current chief executive Ho Ching would not be stepping down any time soon, and there was no active search for a successor.
'Ho Ching is our CEO, she is continuing as our CEO,' Temasek Executive Director Simon Israel told reporters when releasing the state investment firm's annual report for the year ended March.
'There is no, underline no, active, immediate search for a CEO.'
Ms Ho has been Temasek's CEO since January 2004. She was scheduled to leave Temasek in October last year but her designated successor, former BHP Billiton CEO Charles Goodyear, quit the wealth fund in July citing differences in strategy.
Temasek said in May that former Singapore Exchange CEO Hsieh Fu Hua will join Temasek as executive director and president in August to assist Ms Ho in areas such as talent development and succession planning.
'When he comes on board, he will support Ho Ching in bringing through the next generation of leaders,' Mr Israel said. 'I don't think he is there to specifically find a successor for Ho Ching.'

probably Hsieh Fu Hua will be groomed to take over from her in future, that is why no active search for her successor.
its very clear that the job of CEO of Temasek is clearly out of ho ching 's depth. she didnt even studied finance/investment nor has ever worked in banking/finance/investment firms before. her credibility was already tarnished by the investment losses, even though she got many of the so-called experts assisting her, but as CEO, the buck stops with her. It will be good if Temasek can invite Jim Rogers for a non executive post at Temasek, due to his wealth of experience in this field and his status as investment guru.
they are still trying to find someone brave enough to come take over the mess made by the PM's husband?
the chairman and board of Temasek has made a mistake by appointing Ho Ching in the first place.

husband...
no way is that thing a woman... that's a man.. and an ugly man at that...
put the PM and his husband side by side and you'll see that Lau Lee's son looks a lot prettier than Ho Ching... and more feminine too...

hur....You mean they are still trying to find someone who would cover up the Mess and take the Crap from her and her husband....
I figure... replacement will be done after election.........they set themselves up.
Aw, c'mon.... a little bit of nepotism never hurt anyone!
No more talents in PAP ?
Actually losing $$ (GIC, Temasek Holdings) needs no talents...
But seems like every thing she touch turned into waste !!
from Chartered Semi-con to Temasek's investment in BOA....
Maybe too much instrictions within the job....
Why Mr Charles W goodyear turned down the job at the 1st place ???
Too much paper losses ???

Jupiter Says Singapore's Temasek Interested in South Africa Manganese Mine
Jupiter Mines Ltd., an Australian company developing manganese and iron ore mines, said Singapore’s state investment company Temasek Holdings Pte is interested in its Tshipi project. Shares surged. Jupiter is also seeking to raise between A$70 million ($59 million) and A$100 million in a share sale, Jupiter Chairman Brian Gilbertson said on a call with reporters today. The Tshipi manganese mine in South Africa may cost $200 million and take 18 months to construct, according to Perth-based Jupiter.
“They are fully briefed on this project and are interested in it,” Gilbertson said. “They are aware of the project and very interested in steelmaking raw materials.
Temasek has spent more than $1.2 billion on energy and resources assets in the six months to mid-May as it diversifies its portfolio. The Singapore-based company this year invested $150 million in Platmin Ltd., the South Africa-based platinum miner controlled by Gilbertson’s Pallinghurst Resources Ltd.
“They are fully briefed on this project and are interested in it,” Gilbertson said. “They are aware of the project and very interested in steelmaking raw materials.”
Jupiter jumped 25 percent to 25 Australian cents, giving it a market value of A$92 million at the 4:10 p.m. Sydney time close on the Australian stock exchange.
Jupiter agreed in March to acquire a 49 percent stake in Tshipi from a group of companies led by Pallinghurst. The deal will be voted on at a shareholder meeting that may be held next month, Gilbertson said today. In exchange, Jupiter agreed to issue shares to the group, including Investec Plc, which will then own 85 percent of the Australian company.
Posco, South Korea’s largest steelmaker, will hold 20 percent of Jupiter, Pallinghurst 17 percent and Investec will control 16 percent. American Metals and Coal International Inc. will also have a 15 percent stake.
Temasek’s investments in energy and resources accounted for 5 percent of its portfolio at the end of March last year, compared with 33 percent in financial services, according to its latest annual report. Temasek managed a portfolio of S$172 billion ($124 billion) as of July 31, 2009, according to its website.
Temasek spokesman Jeffrey Fang in Singapore declined to comment.

U also need to get the letter posted from China...
now the chairman and board of Temasek have made the same mistake twice, by letting her stay on as CEO. Clearly the job of CEO is clearly out of her depths.
