No plans yet for KWSH land: DPM Wong

THE Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital (KWSH) will not be left in the lurch, despite the authorities being undecided about its plans for the land it sits on when the lease expires in 2015.
The medical facility is Singapore's longest-serving charity hospital, and its officials are hoping they can stay put at its present premises in Serangoon Road.
On Sunday, it celebrated its centennial year with free health screenings for the public and a food and games carnival, among other events.
A 92-year-old donor even presented $100,000 to the hospital on Sunday to mark the occasion.
Deputy Prime Minister Wong Kan Seng said on the sidelines of the celebrations that the Government has no plans to use the land for the next five years.
'But after five years, the Ministry of National Development may have different plans. So it is only then that we can decide the hospital's future,' said DPM Wong in Mandarin.
