government information sharing

  Hi all 

  I'm a university student doing a project on possible sets of data that might face high public demand if the government were to openly share such information online in its move toward e-Government.
  
  Such data sharing through open source portals have been initiated in the US and UK for purposes of application development and citizen co-creation as well as increased transparency. 
  

  This following survey lists descriptions of data sets which have yet to be published, but might be of potential interest.   Why would the govt want to share information with us?!?! The information they share with us on the papers are so accurate already, we don't even believe it!
