MORE than 140 secondary and tertiary students took part in a forum on youth and sports on Tuesday, where they got to ask Minister of Community Development, Youth and Sports Vivian Balakrishnan questions ranging from foreign talent in local sports, to career prospects as a sportsperson here.
The students were newly appointed youth ambassadors under a programme run by the Government's feedback arm, Reach. The programme, launched in 2008, aims to encourage youths to reach out and promote a feedback culture among their peers.
During the forum, Dr Balakrishnan highlighted the need for fellow countrymen to support local teams and addressed concerns over foreign talent in local sports.
He added that his ministry was also looking at ways to ensure athletes will have opportunities even after they have reached the end of their competitive careers.
Is Reach YPAP?
