LAST Friday, my colleagues and I went to Ikea Tampines for lunch. While the lunch was excellent, the experience at the ice-cream counter near the check-out section left a sour taste in our mouths.
My colleague queued on our behalf. However, when it was his turn to order, the employee at the ice-cream counter said: "The ice-cream machine is damaged. There is no ice-cream available. Can't you see the signboard?"
We were disappointed not at the unavailability of ice cream but the attitude of the employee.
We looked around and could not see a "signboard". Instead, there was a small piece of paper with four to six lines of words placed at the counter itself. One would have to join the queue and be at the counter to order before the sign could be spotted.
