AN MRT train parked in a depot was hit with garish graffiti in what amounted to a serious security breach in a restricted area here.
The vandal apparently sneaked into the sprawling depot at Changi, despite an array of barriers, including fences topped with barbed wire.
Once inside, he spray-painted elaborate graffiti on one side of a train, across one carriage. The Straits Times understands that the vandal, a 33-year-old Swiss national, cut through the fence of the depot along Xilin Avenue, in what is believed to be the first such case of vandalism here.
Foreign talent.
Nice wat..some ppl dun appreciate art
But it does present a security issue. Imagine planting bombs on the undercarraige, than remote detonating them just before entering the tunnels.
if the terrorists can get into the depot what the use of checking bags.
shiok..got Speed in sg. train muz travel at certain speed or will explde or like Die Hard

agree that its a security loophole that must be patched ASAP...anyway...33 years old for a graffiti vandal is pretty old...haha...

No one thought of that till a carraige got spray painted.
I really hope this isn't another Maketing Campaign of SMRT or whoever. It is strange for SMRT to continue using those train if they are victims of vandalism. Shouldn't they will be left in the depot for Investigations or cleaning right? To claim insurance or something.
But how do they manage to "vandalize" since train moving all the time?
Are you all sure is other people vandalised? Remember the Letter post box? Also got people vandalised but end up is Post Officer managment is the one to pain on the post box right? So maybe this time is also SMRT managment who does this want.
the train looks much nicer with the graffiti!
Trashy art, with gaudy colors and vulgar taste. Oh well, they call it a 'niche' art anyway.

They have those special devices strapped to their wrist that allows them to jump in and out of time, and even freeze time for unspecified periods long enough for them to do their deeds.
Oh geez, they vandalised it when the train was at the depot, didn't you read?
a bit nice

He broke into the depot by cutting through a fence at Xilin Ave. Presumably during midnight when those jaga are busy minum kopi, as they always do.

The pictures are already proof to claim right? Besides, they may be stretched to full capacity so perhaps they are forced to use it.
Btw, I think the pictures in the website is lifted from sgforums? Since this was the site when the news first broke out.
The train set is 047/048 for those people who are under "Singapore Trains".

angmohs are bleeding heart liberals. they call this freedom of speech. vandalize by grafitti, what next? burn the train as a 'spectacular art'?

if that's the case...then SMRT deserves to get whacked...copy other people's idea...and a bad one at that...Plagiarism!!
No style. Dunno why people like to vandalise using the same font. yawn!

now we all know there is nobody to visually inspect the trains just before they go on service.
