A CASHIER, who lost her job at NTUC Fairprice last year and defaced walls and cars near the supermarket branch in Serangoon Central, was jailed for six months on Tuesday.
Susan Lim Fong, 35, had scrawled obscenities and statements such as 'Fairprice anyhow sack people' and 'Fairprice give top people big bonus to gamble ... give lower small $$'.
A district court heard that she did this on six occasions between last November and January this year.
Representing Lim under the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme, Ms Christina Goh said that her client sank into depression after losing her job and regretted committing the offences.
The lawyer also said that Lim, who is in the process of divorcing her husband, is the sole breadwinner of her two sons, aged 9 and 13. As the jail term was backdated to the date Lim was remanded in January, she would be released today.
District Judge Wong Li Tien also made arrangements for Lim to attend a community court conference on Monday so that she had her family may receive financial support and counselling from welfare agencies.
