SPRING Singapore chairman Philip Yeo has incurred the wrath of Apple's famously fanatical followers over comments that they claim disparaged them.
They are incensed by his description of those who buy 'useless applications' for Apple's products as 'gullible customers'.
Mr Yeo was guest speaker at the Fullerton-St Joseph's Institution leadership lecture last Friday when he was asked what he thought of the iPad tablet.
I think Apple fans thingy becoming a cult.
You see Ellen end up gotta apologise in a 'free' US over Apple.
Seriously it's happened tat Apple is spending lots of R&D to innovate being a trailblazer. Else Apple wun be a hype either
Philip Yeo is jealous?
This man shares the same characteristic with apple - creating some hoo haa news from time to time.
but really.. the iPad looks like piece of crap from the specs...
it's basically a giant iPhone which you cannot make phone calls from
i use a MacBook Pro because it's better than what windoze can come up with...
i like apple products but the iPad really is dumb
whole
sg is flooding with i phone already...
even small kids also using it
no matter what there are certain language we don't used particularly directed at publics.
maybe now apple can sue for defemation.....
Philip Yeo created impression he is diplomatic, I never expect him to say such words.
Recently saying something stupid has been the hallmark of Pap..... : ) must be contagious...

'Dummies' remark irks fans

The message is not wrong (in my opinion), but the language and tone used is callous.
I can agree that iPad is nothing more than an overhyped upsized version of the iPod Touch, but one would expect a person of such standing to use more diplomatic language.
He could have said something like 'Personally, I think the apps have limited utility. Potential customers might also want to consider that the iPad's specs aren't exactly groundbreaking.'
There. Same message, but in a far more diplomatic tone.
He is not a minister right? Case closed.

maybe his diplomacy depends on who he is talking to?
anyway for me iPhone is a better phone than Windows-mobile based phones so he can say all he wants...I am sticking with my iPhone.
As SPRING Singapore is the enterprise development agency for growing innovative companies and fostering a competitive SME sector, I suggest Mr Philips Yeo has crossed the line as a professional and hence, should resign. He has done well previously in "A" star and Jurong Islands development. It is time other younger person takes over the chairmanship of Spring.
Snobbish
Ipad and Iphone are just a jackpot machine for Apple.
All the accompanied software are controlled by Apple.
So, he is right if you look at things from another angle.
There is no definite right or wrong, only depend on how you see things.
We have been too educated to have one correct answer system here.
But, the dummies part is a bit too strong.
So, if you bought a dummy or idiot book, does that mean you admit you are a dummy ?
