Maid accused of sex with boy

AN INDONESIAN maid was hauled to court on Wednesday for having sex with her employer's 12-year-old son.
The 27-year-old is alleged to have caused the boy, with his consent, to engage in oral sex at the HDB unit in the east on Dec 25 last year.
She is also accused of causing the boy to have sex with her sometime at end-June and mid-December last year. The fourth charge under the Children and Young Persons Act states that she committed an obscene act with a child by engaging in sex and oral sex with him between end-June and Dec 25.
The court has ordered the name of the victim to be withheld or anything that will lead to his identification.
If convicted of the sexual penetration of a minor under 16, she can be jailed for up to 10 years and fined on each charge. The maximum penalty for the CYPA charge is a fine of up to $5,000 and/or a jail term of up to two years.
The short and bespectacled domestic worker was offered bail of $20,000. Her passport was impounded. She will appear in court again on May 19.

Maid admits sex with boy

AN INDONESIAN maid had sex with her employer's 11-year-old son after fondling and touching him, a district court heard on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old domestic worker stopped 10 to 15 minutes later when she heard voices of the boy's parents returning home. This took place at the family home in June last year.
On another occasion on Dec 25 last year, the boy, who had turned 12 then, passed by the maid's room and wished her goodnight after going to the toilet. The court heard that the accused pulled him into her room and performed oral sex on him.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Cassandra Cheong said at the time, the door was open and the room light was on. About five to 10 minutes later when the boy had not returned to his bedroom, which he was sharing with his grandmother, the latter decided to check on him.
While walking towards the toilet, she saw what the maid was doing to the victim and immediately called out the boy's name. The maid stopped and pulled up the boy's pants. The grandmother told the boy's parents what she had seen while out shopping with them the next day. The boy's father spoke to him and he finally revealed what the accused had done. He lodged a police report on Dec 27.
The accused will be sentenced on June 2. She could jailed up to 10 years for the oral sex charge. For the sex with the boy charge, she could be fined and jailed up to two years. Two other charges will be taken into consideration during sentencing.

Maid jailed for sexual abuses

AN INDONESIAN maid who had sex with her employer's son was jailed for 36 months by a district court on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old had admitted earlier to committing an obscene act with the boy, then 11, by touching his private parts and having sex with him towards the end of June last year. She also admitted to performing oral sex on the boy on Christmas Day last year. He had turned 12 by then.
She was found out when the boy's grandmother happened to pass by her room to check on the victim who had had taken an unsually long time in the toilet. The grandmother was then staying with the family in the east of Singapore at the time. She asked the boy what the accused had done to him, but he refused to say anything. He finally told his father two days later. A police report was made.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Cassandra Cheong sought a deterrent sentence in view of a number of aggravating factors such as the victim's age, abuse of trust by the accused who took advantage of his naivete and innocence. She said the domestic helper, who is single, was supposed to care for the victim and his siblings but had instead made use of her position to satisfy her own sexual desires.
District Judge John Ng agreed with the prosecution that a stiff sentence was warranted to send a strong message to would-be offenders that such abhorrent behaviour would not be tolerated. Two other charges were taken into consideration.
She could have been jailed for up to 10 years for the sexual penetration charge. Under the Children and Young Persons Act, she could have been fined up to $5,000 and/or jailed for up to two years for committing an obscene act.
