  Government should set up its own prostitute agency and hotels.
  Then they can decide where to locate these prostitues for service.
  Prostitution is legal in Singapore anyway.
  
  Recruit prostitues and improve their service quality.
  And punish those illegal prostitutes with heavy fines, and helps prevent them from going to HDB estates to solicit for businesses.
  
  Then they will know who the workers are, who the customers are, while collecting revenue and taxes. =)

  Just for your info:

  Immigrations do have the rights to stamp on the passport of deportee as NTL (Not Allowed To Land) and entered into field immigration computer records. So far these applies to professions like beggars, unpopular journalists and certain professions. Not sure if they apply to prostitutes here. In Japan immigration they do deport prostitutes.

  well, it seems that while the govt is chasing one end, the "people" are moving to another end.

  I do believe that for these "people", there has to be a pattern of where they are coming from, age group. So just hammer them with "extra" visa visits plus additional such as accomodation details or etc. For those dubious, maybe more random checks to see their backgrounds, who they meeting or etc.

  I do recall when I visit places such as US/HKG or etc, the immigrants do question the purpose of trips, and I do sometimes have to show confirmed hotel stays or etc. And if for work, letter from my office (destination).

  simply put, prostitutes in Singapore who have been busted by the authorities will be deported and not allowed back into Singapore...

  the A1 fella is saying that we should stamp "PROSTITUTE" on their passports.. and every page...

  and the A1 fella is kinda not really thinking too... what is stopping them from just getting another passport in another assumed name?

  They can come back with a new passport and depending on how serious the case is, the record will show name, face and (fingerprints for serious offender) by the immigration.

  yes, on fresh passport the immigration can trace the record, and referred back to embassy for further assessment.

  well, people? as in the people coming in? well, we have it for chewing gums, whats' new?

  Furthermore, base on studies, not all are affected, only those from selected category mah.  Female, from certain countries.

  i do believe most singaporeans will agree with tough immigration laws/acts to deter such "people".

  I REFER to last Wednesday's report, 'Geylang clean-up leads to vice in heartland'. The 'spillover' is not caused by police raids alone. The main culprit is the infrastructure. Budget hotels and vice often go hand-in-hand.

  The frequent raids in Geylang prevent vice in the area from worsening. The report's headline suggests that these raids are causing pimps and prostitutes to move elsewhere. So what if it leads to fewer crackdowns in Geylang which still needs policing?

  Perhaps, a new strategy could be to contain vice within an industrial area.

  the 2 weeks of tourist visa is the issue. they come here on a 2 weeks tourist visa, go back to their country and then come back again after a while. many women from vietnam, PRC and thailand all exploited this tourist visa thingy. yes these women contributed to the visitor arrivals in spore, but they are here to earn a quick buck doing hanky panky business, earning SGD and then go back to their country to spend on the exchange rate.
