JAYWALKING is still the main cause of deaths among elderly pedestrians.
The Traffic Police, who released the annual road traffic statistics on Friday, listed elderly pedestrians as one of two key areas of concern despite the number of road fatalities in Singapore dropping to a 30-year low.
Last year, almost one in two pedestrians killed was above 60 years old. Of the 20 elderly pedestrians fatalities, 13 were killed as a result of jaywalking.
Not surprise. Many of the elderlies are naturally slow in reacting and reflex.
Guess the reason why they are into jaywalking is because like the young people they are impatient to wait at the traffic light.
Time for zzzzzzzzz, was a long day for me and I am tired now. Later still have important things to attend to. Good nite.
