  I have many many friends who had joined various taxi stand groups and have the same feeling as Mr Poolman.........

  "I need taxi stand more than they need me"..........

  And taxi stands welcome anybody who have this mentality...........

  "I can't drive without talkies".............

  Trust me, I had seen many and come across many..........

  My only advise to them, they have not wake up...........You can scold me or fark me now for saying that, but 1 day, you will realise what I actually mean............

  Excess here, is referring to the amount the Taxi Driver must pay in the event of an accident.

  In the event of an acident, the $1000 deposit is already gone.

  Now we are talking about $2000++ excess charges which the Taxi Driver Must Pay!
