My 2 kids (20+ years old) still staying in the HDB, so cannot rent out.
5 Foreign students, earn enough to have meals and occasionally go out for good food. Want to huat, not possible.
Calculations very simple.
Collection from 5 students, minus Rental, Utilities, Maid, Groceries, Miscellaneous. Only left the bones.
Want to huat, must have 3 to 5 Homestay, each at least 6 students.
And then drive Taxi to earn extra pocket money for that special holiday or save for rainy days.
Now you know why I can OMO :)
No stress, but no good, because end up very idle. I always admire some of our hardworking brudders in this forum. How nice if I am like them.

TS, before you are eligible to employ a maid....you had to go through an on-line certification by MOM...
Many had go through motion without using "heart & soul" to read it.........including me.....
These day, maid had another definitely....."domestic helper", the rules and regulation protected them more, those are the gone days, making this "helper" slog their live for your family......
Maid no more come from rural place in Indonesia or Phillipine.....most came from City living.....much more educated, and know their right.....
Agency have their own limitation, these days, they are not able to explore the MOM regulation......
To many things to write on......please do go through the on-line certification again, everything is stated clearly provided one read it.......
Is not that bad to employ a domestic helper, if we follow the rules & regulation properly.......my current maid (can't speak proper English) been with us coming to 2 years......altitude wise, fark up.....everything slow but we only need her to get things done, not slavery....so ok la...........

Open mouth tcss also tired , must drink water .
Kill termites must bend up bend down , also tired .
Wash taxi also tired , wash inside nia hor ....
Then service by Viets even more tired . Esp they ask for twice , weak later .

I went through the contract and told the agency that I have this right.
They replied me the contract is only for show. They said after spend a lot of time, money and effort to fight the case, end up still have to pay the maid,.. and the lawyers.
I believed him because I thought he was on mny side. But I was wrong.

Ok, I always go for more reputable agency, this current 1, I source from Nation......
The working address shown in the maid employment pass is very important, especially recently with so many incident happen to the maids.....
Maybe she run, because she was puzzles why she work in different address.....
And with some influence from peers(you will be amaze how they communicate even without seeing each other), she decided to run for her right......
Even they run, either to embassy or agency because they had been told and instructed by MOM when they first step in to our land.....
MOM had clean up almost every loop holes, agency can think about....it really can be a nightmare for employing a maid this day...

After I took this maid out that time.....the only time I go back to their office is to collect the maid passport......

Agree .... cannot trust agencies .
My case was quite frustrating .
Maid ran away .... made police report .....
Engaged new maid to come 1 month , that month busy doing housework .
Say it's like up front pay $XXX amount for replacement .
Collection of maid has to comply with payment of total $3XXX to the agency .
Hidden cost .... knnbccb .
I bashed my wife infront of the Agency .
"See u and your fucking big mouth , this will be the first time and last time i'll have a maid from this agency ."
I dun care who is infront of her , just bashed .
She and her big mouth ..... deserved to be bashed . Fucking tell her never listen .
Everytime she miscue , became Dog Mother Snake , i have to clear her shit and in the end , i pay for all expenses , knnbccb . Woman damn nusiance one .
Yup at home i am a bit of those type like chauvinist .
I rule .
With a iron hand at home .
Also good , i shown to the new maid first day , who is Boss at home and his temparament .
