Again, competition only benefit consumer, the best is Esson, Caltex, SPC join in the race for cheaper diesel. Let them stir, as consumer, we gain.
Again in economy sense, let me gives you a few perspectives so that hopefully you can understand better on the cost.
Price taker, in TD diesel case, cdg is alway the price taker, the benchmarker, meaning most of the time TD will bench mark every diesel price with cdg, anything lower, consider cheaper.
Opportunity cost, this is a very individual option, meaning what do you want to buy from, cdg or shell, then you come to the economy of scale, meaning where are you, your location and time, it is sensible to pump at shell as you are running out of time and the shell stn is just at the corner. Or that you got lots of time and cdg kiosk is not far, so, why not?
However, thing to note is that, oil companies work in a oligarchy way, meaning all their boss are actually in one group, every month they will discuss the rate of oil and prices, just like taxi companies, they will sit together once a while and decide on the fares, this is call oligarchy, a step ahead of monopoly.
The Opec is also a oligarchy, all the arabs states can be nasty to each other, but when it come to sit down and talk about oil prices, they are all very co-operative.
Being Oligarchy meaning that only these few companies are in the market, no one can over take them, so, they become the price maker. Just like Opec, our life depend on their decision

Good analogy, not including your conveniences, the middle guy cut $1.5 per day fm each cabby (fall guy) who pump there, and if 1000 cabbies pump at shell, he takes 1,500 per day, and in one month?? u figure it out.Brilliant idea, this middle guy must had been a cabby or work in a cabby companies before to fully understand cabby mindset, and most importantly, it is working.
And if end up 5000 cabbies pumping at shell, guess he can buy sentosa cove anytime. That's how we let the rich gets richer.
Other cabbies I can understand, but for cdg to go there is something you need to reconsider beside the mental block of better diesel and the inconveniences.
On the hindsight, competition is good, notice the moment shell comes out with such plan, cdg diesel start to drop, good for all.
well $$ makes the world go round..................
