Then driver usually far away , cannot make it , tell pax give you 30 minutes , they fly there .
Service very good . Pax impressed , but . . . then drivers will come to think of it , knn got pax dun take , spent 30 minutes come down from Tampines to Shelford Road , and for that $10 ?
Worth it ?
Then slowly . . . when pax call next day , not free , quite far away .
NExt day , still far away .
Then pax stop calling , call 6552-1111 better , no need wait 30minutes .

Then when the name they gave , pax thought : " good , got driver come pick me , no need pay call charge ."
But when driver press call charge , pax will go home and think : " I have to wait 20-30 minutes for him to come , for the same price , i call 6552-1111 , taxi appear infront of me in less than 10 minutes , why call him ?"

I have been in the line too long .....
Out of those 100% of normal taxi drivers i know , not one succeeded in holding on their so called regulars .
Their regulars eventually will go back to conventional ways of getting a cab , 6552-1111 , maybe now they can call 6555-3333 . Maybe some extra got Premier .
Unless one give out name cards when driving normal taxis , then when their customers base solid liao , hop to Premium level , then giving out name cards come handy .
Premium level as in min 25points per trip for short trip , as much as $50points for different type of service .
And maybe per hour bookings .
Yes , then giving out name cards works .
Normal taxis can only get normal prices .
Normal prices taxis whole street plenty of them .

Giving name cards without a network of drivers supporting , very hard to maintain the customers base .
Either u earn lesser than normal drivers , and have a pool of regulars . Paxes happy , income not happy . Cos very time consuming for little money .
Or
U earn a decent amount daily , without any regulars . And most are doing the second , not the first options .

That is why , some joined LV because when their pax called , they can get fellow members to support in the event they cannot make it .
It works , cos his paxes won't run away , cos everytime they called , this LV member can always find drivers for them .
This is what i called drivers support .
That is precisely what those Premium level drivers are doing , networking .
Do solo ?
Cannot make it one .
On paper yes , practically cannot one .

No lah,. no bang wall.
Got no intention of getting regular customers at this point of time, but building up the base is good for my next phase in the tranporter business.
But the problem is if I give name cards now, they will expect limo service but taxi price.
The only regular service that I dont mind doing is the 6am or 7am one.
Wake up, go straight to pick up, then start the day.
I did this for one week, for a Secondary School boy going to school, but the cheapo (but very rich) Indonesian family stop after one week. (No offense. I have some Indonesian Friends who are very ethical)
That's not all. Pay by week, so when I ask for money at the end of week, the boy says mother never give him the money.
Had to make a few phone calls, and make an extra trip across the island (I did not want to delay if he is ready to pay me) just to collect the miserable 4 days fare. I believe the boy has the money to pay me on that Friday, but because of his selfishness, I had to spend extra time, fuel and phone calls just to collect what is due to me.
Next time, COD.

as wat Pool said,regulars? ma na wu eng....don't disturb me the best.
Pax anytime wants taxi within 5-10mins,just dial respective taxi coy number,that simple!

Of course, many cheapbo pax will try to take advantage of TU, but it work both way again, sometime, we also want to take advantages of pax..heehee
As a normal TU, if you want to give name card, must spell out properly, non-obligation to serve, because like Poolman say, meter nia...
But, if limo pax, eating half way, you will also fly there, which happen to a lot of TU before...hahaha

Why Taxi Stands can be successful? Not just support from drivers, specialize in certain area also work.
LV famous in town, so most members hang around in town during certain time, TJ/Boon lay, famous in Tuas, so their drivers doing likewise. Pax not stupid, regular taxi takers will know how all this work..So how pax know about LV or other Taxi Stands? Name card also ma...

In short, there's many many many many kinds of pax in Singapore.
Do what you deem right, there's nothing call impossible in Taxi Driving.
Some like to start engine whack until off engine.
Some like Poolman, pick and choose and pick and choose.
Some like to be a "professional", serving pax and be happy.
Some drive taxi purposely find trouble one.
And some just feel that, taxi is a decent jobs, drive and 过日å� loh...lol

Why CDG are so successful in their cab charge business?
They Fxxxing rich, got plenty of money to give term ma...
Layman like us, don't ever try giving term to pax or company, unless we are as rich as CDG....

In Taxi Driving, giving extra service has no benefit. Bec ause probably you wont see this pax again.
But the argument is, if All TU give extra service, then the Professionalism in Taxi Industry will go up.
But look around you, even you as a TU also cannot tahan the other TU, who got no ethics or considerations. So your extra service will be wasted.
I choose to think of it the other way.
I will give extra service, because I feel good inside, and I like to look at Pax surprise that still got TU like me. (ha ha, self-praise)
eg. Auntie got many NTUC bags to carry. I will get down and close the Rear Passenger door for her, because her hands are full.
eg. at AP, I will take over trolley and tell Pax to go sit in the Taxi while I load up.
eg. Unsteady Old man getting down from Taxi, same, I will get down and close rear Passenger door for him. I tell Uncle dont worry about the door, just keep walking.
The satisfaction, I cannot describe. You do it and you will know. But remember, dont expect anything in return.

My case is a "professional". Anyway the last 3 months usage also very minimum, chu pattern liao so also low profile, me gong gong until they disappear than kakis tell me, some "professional" like that one, especially when they are being sent packing home, go back become farmer..lol

In Mr L's book, any private agreement between TU & Passenger is not binding, meaning, do at your own risk...lol
Even for limousine services also. Must have a strong backer (like CDG endorse) to protect our own backside. Nothing will happen when everything's went smoothly. But when things get nasty, "overcharging" is the key word.

So far, the most ulu ulu place with landed properties, for me, I think is at Wak Hassan area, off Sembawang Park.
Still developing new houses, but many TU try service that area, and mostly fail, because no members want to chiong there, too far out...lol
