last night pick up a middle age couple,an Ang Mo with a Chinawoman fr Victoria st(CBD)saying going to Lor 8 Toa Payoh.ask them preferred route,Chinawoman just say take CTE in a not very fluent English.she looks like those who is suspicious of people and anytime gonna fleeced her of money!so i just think go by Selegie road to Bt timah to CTE,the moment i do that she accuse me of taking a different route instead of CTE at Upper Cross street,even argue about the CBd charge of only $3!disputing that no such charges on a Sunday!can anybody confirm?she then suddenly ask me to stop the taxi immediately at Selegie road and threaten to report me to my company!her Ang Mo companion then threw me a $5 dollar note,when the actual fare plus peak period already come up to about $7,all the time saying i didn't follow their preferred destination!i then threw back their $5 dollar and ask them to make a proper complaint which the Ang Mo was already doing with the China woman keep repeating the vehicle number plate!idiots if they are so suspicious and miserly,don't take a cab and start accusing people!

Yes,sunday also have cbd after 5pm.Last time when i was still a green cabby,i also kana few time from all these china ppl,accused me taking longer route,usually i lan lan gif discount,now days if pax accuse me take wrong.which i know is not. I will tell them: lets go police station and sought it out.

That's what most brothers said before, OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND ASK FOR THE ROUTE first. TD must be good in communication skill, whereever I take from CBD or any surcharges, I will also inform paxs, whether they know or not will not become an issue. If they ask, I will spell out the whole surcharges and peak hours to them, that is why it is important to know what your trade well.Pax bought at City Hall, going to bukit manis, Sentosa
bowah: Sir, this is CBD period, a surcharge of $3 apply, and now is after 6pm, peak hour of 25% of fare apply, as for sentosa, for 2 paxs, $3 entry fees apply thru my cashcard provided that you have access to sentosa as guest or resident. Is this ok with you.

You must be the commander of your trade, not the pax, and to be one, you need good communication skill, once you have that, pax will respect you. You are the TD, you command the taxi, not the pax.

As for viet or PRC peoples, they tends to shout instead of speaking, so, you shout back, just like GEYLAND LOR 32!!!!, I will shout back OK!!!! GEYLAND LOR 32!!!, it is their culture to talk very loud, learn to gel into pax characteristic and manner, once you are able to gel into them, eveything will be easier and friendlier, in a way, you speak their tunes and calm them down.
Most of these viet and PRC or third world peoples come from a country whereby their taxis driver tends to cheat them of fares, ultimately, in singapore, they think the same, so you got to ask for the routes, on the meter and stick by the instruction if given.

When the fare is $17.05 and pax gives you $50, use a calculator to calculate the change. Explain to pax : if my maths is so good, I will be a forex dealer. Better than giving him $10 extra, which I did before.

it's quite easy sometimes passengers not happy with the ride purposely give a $50 note,say for eg. fare is $7.35,so all u have to do is to break it into 2 parts,the dollar and cents!so 50-7=33,then the cents 65 cents,so u give back $32.65.got once passengers tried to confuse me,she gave me a dollar,then i gave her back chnge of 50 cents,then she say don't want so many coins,she gave me 2 one-dollar coins,i got confuse i gave her 3 dollars!these passengers trying to take advantage of old man!
