Manchester United's Jonny Evans
JONNY EVANS is set to sign a new four-year deal with Manchester United worth around £20,000 a week.
The defender has agreed terms even though he is not a regular part of boss Sir Alex Ferguson’s plans.
Fergie was keen to tie down Northern Ireland international Evans because he believes the 20 year old can develop into a Premier League regular.
Evans has spent two loan spells at Sunderland and played in United’s midweek Champions League draw against Aalborg.
He is the latest United player to agree terms, with veteran keeper Edwin van der Sar, 38, also signing a new contract.
