Is LTA or SPF trying to "siam" their job responsibility?

Hi all bros,as i what knew in Hong Kong,the Hong Kong Police is in charge of taxi drivers .This means their job includes giving fines & penalities to taxi drivers who doesn"t abide the taxi industry rules when plying on the road.They often disguise themselve as tourist who try to catch cabby who overcharge etc....On the other hand,they also will respond immediately on the scene if a taxi drive call to report when he or she need help in the middle of the night.Especially in the case when the taxi driver meet nasty drunkard passenger who act blur and refuse to pay the taxi fare or threatening to beat up the taxi driver.Normally,all this type of pax will get handcuffed & arrested on the spot.This is what i call effective.I think this system in Hong Kong is very fair.They fine you but they also take care of you when you need their help. :clap:
But in Singapore,it doesn"t work this way.The SPF will refer you to LTA when incident like the above mentioned arise.Why the LTA don"t set up a 24 hours to assit the taxi drivers when we need help since they are the one who summon us most of the times.Hi bros,what do you think?

If can siam, gahmen dept will push to sme1 else and act blur...
If time to claim credit, gahmen dept will appear nice nice and do thing nice nice to get photo op.
Minister coming to walkabout, mass area cleaning, TC pple start doing touch up around estate
If no one coming, place dirty, pesdestrian path full of mud also no one can inspect/clean, speaking from experience... -
Hi Bros getcarter,not yet,but i think my time will come sooner or later.That is why i am requesting a assisting department for attending help to cabby and this department got to be decisive.And since LTA is the department who fine and give penalties to us,they should help and protect us too.You know our fine to pay them is like kind of "protection money" too.

Your Taxi is quipped with an emergency distressed button which will alert the call centre when pressed. The call centre folks who will alert the police...

True , I was alerted to look out for a cab, through MDT, to assist him when neccessary around 10am one day at a open space carpark. End up its faulty button, driver already in kopi shop sipping his nice cuppa of kopi ... hahaha

Kudos to you Bro, you went to help a TD in distressed..just that is false alarm.
Actually why can all taxi companies MDT be linked on the distressed call? Wouldn't it be more effective than to have only respective companies TD helping only own company TD?
Imagine if 1 (any company) TD press button and within mins all different companies of TD came to his aid.. confirmed better than waiting for S?F, right?

Yalor, and then these parking summons also keep increasing, last time parking offence only $30, now got smlj $50, $70 or even $100 and all kinds of fines until uncle me also luan luan, knnccb, eat 2 piece prata kenna $70 + prata $2 + teh ahlia $1= $73, kan ka bo luat -

True, I got a few, but only once in sengkang I personally called the ambalance, the driver completely cannot move, like a mummy, stroke...then later white foam also come out, I only lower the seat in lying position, MDT on advance call. Then my phone rang, cdg called me, I told them to cancel advance and look for others, then tell them the situation, cdg will tell all others cabbies whom they paged to stand down once they know the situation. -
Well done Bro... at least this distressed call works to a certain extend.. Again, is this distressed call link to non comfort taxis. If not, why can't NTA propose this for the safety of all TDs plying on the road?
I believed Taxis are all over Spore at anytime as compare to mata..

That was also raised when they wanted for a one call centres, but it will be messy in term of who is going to take the most cost, who is responsible, who provide the MDT, who provide the operator, which companies will be allocated more calls and so on...knn, talk until want to fight..transcab executives are the first one to walk away yelling not fair. So, I think the best, in term of safety and health, we ourselve be the catalyst of it instead of waiting for these farkers to decide, because whatever they decide on, $$ will be more in concern than life. We therefore must take care of our health, be alert to any changes, before and after driving conditon, rest enough, drink enough, shit enough, sex enough, exercise, take care of our diet, better not to smoke, but if smoking, try to smoke less, eat moderately, and most important, be happy

call centre is for the companies leh... this type is for the safety of TDs leh... see if they still want to raise up the points that you mentioned...
Of course in terms of health, we are still the one to take care of ourselves.. but in terms of safety leh... So NTAss cannot advocate this? or like I hinted, they only think for themselves only.... So the life/safety of all TDs is worth lesser than the maintaince and cost of of the stupid reasons?

Problem is that there are lots of shy and egostic TD in singapore, got health problem, also keep to themselves, here pain also think later will be ok, then in front of brothers, want to act hero, like he very strong type, and then when really pain, go to remote area to rest instead of going into crowded places. If feel uncomfortable, drive to a place where there is people and not to a park or remote area, at least you can call for help anytime, singaporean all got handphones, I got my nokia 8610, most will help the cabby in distress on the spot. Statistic in my board show that 80% of taxis drivers in Singapore who get stroke or heart attack died or end up in serious condition are mostly found in remote area, that is wrong. Taxi companies should educate their drivers to move into town area where there are peoples who can help or at least get attention.
