Why must I cover my hirer?

When I go on leave, I must pay my hirer $20. When he go on leave I must pay him $84 but I get 24 hrs full shift. Who wants full shift man? I don't want.
His rental is $104. I pay $52 per 12 hrs half shift.

This arrangement is fair in my opinion
When you go on leave , he need to pay $84.00 to company (104 - your contribution of 20)
so logically, when he go on leave you need to pay $84.00 also mah ...

This is an equal sum solution, meaning both side paying the same, even per day rental also share equally. Question here is if share equally, hirer must also share benefit with you, like rental free days, road tax rebate and all other perks that company provide, if not, after today shift, put the key in the key hole and tell him go and fly kite at west coast park. Gentlemen, please understand that there is no obligation, nor any written documents between hirer and relief, it is all about trust and sharing, if that trust and sharing is non existence, just walk away, no emotion involve, if you get to emotional, anger, sad or pity, then you are not cut to be a relief or a hirer. But do not end up like my buddy, I got one buddy doing relief, knn, he thrown many keys liao, until the whole estate taxi hirers also know him.., now he cannot find a hirer near my place..lols

If u relief full week, make sure he gives u a share of the company benefit, otherwise, you really rotsa market

and normally when we relief on leave its 50% of rental, not $20. That only for the crown.

Well, as long all parties concerned are fine with the arrangement, why not?

Or u want the hirer to find another relief or super-relief to replace him during his leave peroid.
But you must bear with it that the relief or super-relief chu pattern like eat dissel, do not take care of the car well, return car late or any other pattern.
Just drive additional 1-2 hour and you can easily cover the $20, or better still, just drive on peak hour and rest on off-peak, you might be working less and earning the same as in 1 shift.

dun use wat is the norm to argue with ur hirer.....he may not be the norm lor.

True. Many times we based on market practice and carry on, but such arrangements ain't applicable to everyone, every time.
So it's always open for discussion
everyone wants to make $ happily

Adult physically only, most taxi driver still living in a childish world, lots of imagination and hallucination. Many, after years of driving, hv also learn how to fry roti prata liao..adult? -
Very simple, go in and talk, as I said, anything can talk it over, there is no laws and document to govern hirer and relief relationship, gum, drive, not gum, can alway politely move on and left a friendship behind.
