if you have witnesses, make sure to record down their email/ contact nos and let them know the trial dates (if you are charged as an accused and wish to claim trial).

Huh? that one must go on trial, either you get suhban or ravi to take care for you, and for that matter, even if you cannot afford a lawyer, the state will appoint one for you, but ususally those newbie. Accident on the road involving death is simply an accident (no intention, merely an accident), depending on the right of the way, you might get a heavy fine and ban from driving, however, if you are wrong, then, there will be jail sentence.

for trial in sub-courts, either u get your own lawyer or you act in person. the state will not appoint a lawyer for you, only for capital punishment you get this treatment.

But the state will hv to ask you..Offender, do you need a counsellor. Look, this is a demon cratic society, there is no such thing as one way representation, unless your case is an outright lost case. And even if they give you a counsel, he or she will be a newbie, maybe a clerk at th DA office, he will not defend you, but he will tell you the rules and what you are facing, and how to present yourself infront of the judge.

Criminal trial with police prosecutor, they would had all the evidences in place, especially so, in our kiasu police force. Base on the evidences, they will persuade the criminal to plead guilty on the pretext of a lighter sentencing. Of course the criminal can choose to see his lawyers or request for a counsellor, but most would had agreed to plead guilty base on the evidences and the sentencing spell out before the court proceeding. So when time to go court, the judge is going to hv an easy job..Mr so and so, do you plead guilty for the offences you make against the laws of Singapore? Yes your honor. Thank you, you are hereby sentence to .........and jail for a time of x years which commenced from the time of yr arrest. Next please
