Most traffic accidents in Singapore happen along PIE
The 42.8km-long PIE had fewer accidents per km than CTE and SLE in past 3 months
The Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) is the highway where the most traffic accidents occurred over the past three months.
Singapore's longest highway, at 42.8km, had at least 441 accidents, with the highest concentration around the Eng Neo Avenue exit. There were 48 accidents there, evenly split in both directions.
The numbers were gleaned from more than 2,000 tweets by the Land Transport Authority's @LTAsg Twitter account between May 26 and Aug 22. The automated traffic updates are based on real-time surveillance cameras and the Expressway Monitoring Advisory System.
Although the PIE had the highest number of accidents, it fell behind the Central Expressway (CTE) and Seletar Expressway (SLE) when the number of accidents was set against the length of the road.
PIE no doubt hv the most accident, could be due to it been longest, however, most of PIE accident are minors, major accidents happen whereby life were taken is usually CTE, AYE and ECP.
PIE Paya Lebar and Eunos side also titi accident. Think is because of the design of the highway.
yesterday, i kena a series of jams due to accidents on CTE, to and fro north area, in the afternoon

the few bends near Bedok, Steven, Adam, Clementi is quite dangerous
ECP near MBS has its fair share of new railings lately

PIE is so call our 1st expressway built....
Last time, our goberment very timid 1, dare not chase too much land for road building....
So they had to built in such a way, siam here, siam there....
And of course it was constructed in few stages over many years....

Look at those newer expressway like TPE, KJE.....knn all so straight like my little brother...
From Wiki....
Construction of the PIE started in 1964 and took place in four phases. The first phase involved widening the stretch of Whitley Road from Mount Pleasant Flyover to Thomson Flyover, Jalan Toa Payoh, Jalan Kolam Ayer, and Paya Lebar Way, and replacing all the traffic light junctions on these roads with grade-separatedinterchanges. Those stretches were completed in 1969. Similarly, a second phase was constructed in 1969 and was completed in 1975 from Whitley Road (Mount Pleasant Flyover) all the way to Jalan Anak Bukit.
Subsequently (third phase), the section from Jalan Eunos to East Coast Parkway, which involved the construction of a new road, started construction in 1976 and thus led to the proposed interchanges, Bedok North Road Interchange, Upper Changi Road East Interchange and the connecting T-interchange at East Coast Parkway. This was completed in 1980. The western end started construction in 1977 to parallel via Jurong Road. The fourth phase, the western end from Jalan Anak Bukit to Corporation Road was completed in 1981. The expressway was 35 kilometres (22 mi) long when completed.

land acquisition act was introduce on 1967
does that answer why you think the government was timid
and 1964, we are still under malaysia
1967, we are under PAP
see the difference
now then i know PIE is older than me

At least 150 property deals have hit the skids due to a sudden Housing Board policy change which requires new permanent residents (PRs) to wait three years before they can buy a resale flat.
The figure is an early estimate by property agents, who say that similar cases are streaming in, with PRs having been caught out by Tuesday night's surprise announcement, which took effect immediately.
Before then, PRs could buy a resale flat as soon as their residency had been confirmed.
National Development Minister Khaw Boon Wan said the move was part of efforts to stabilise and "restore balance" in the HDB market.
FINALLY THOSE FT TASTED THE POWER OF OUR GOBERMENT....
SG IS THE ONLY COUNTRY IN THIS WORLD CAN PASS LAW SO EASILY AND KNN WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT HOR....
