  Malaysian banker's murder: Ex-cabbie charged with having a pistol

  

  KUALA LUMPUR (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - A former Malaysian taxi driver who allegedly ferried the man suspected of shooting dead Ambank founder Hussain Ahmad Najadi, was charged at the Sessions Court here on Friday with illegally having a pistol and four bullets.

   Chew Siang Chee, 45, is said to have committed the offences at Desa Cindaimas condominium at 5.45pm on August 3.

   If convicted for possession of the pistol and magazine, he can be jailed up to 14 years and whipped not less than six times under Section 8 of the Malaysian Firearms Act (increased penalties) 1971.

   If found guilty of possessing the bullets, he can be jailed up to seven years and fined a maximum of RM10,000 or both under Section 8(a) of the Arms Act 1960
