[STOMP] TC Cabby takes PAX to wrong place & demands $5 to ..

TransCab Cabby takes woman to wrong place -- then demands $5 to fix mistake
STOMPer Grace says this taxi driver not only failed to take her to the correct destination, he also tried to charge her an extra $5 to take her to the right place.
According to Grace, the cabby was also rude and confrontational during the ride.
The STOMPer wrote:
"This is regarding the very bad behaviour of a Trans Cab driver.
"On Aug 5, I made a taxi booking with Trans Cab, and SHD5745K, a red-coloured vehicle, responded. The trip started at 2.26pm.
"I told the cab driver my destination was Great World City. However, after traveling halfway, I realised the route taken was slightly different and that it was taking longer than the usual route that I usually take, so I asked the driver if he was taking a longer route.
"The first time I asked him, he did not give me a reply. The second time, he said in a harsh tone,' when you directed me out of the place, there was only one way out'. So I said okay then.
"Five minutes later, he stopped outside Vivo City.
"I was furious. I told him that I clearly said that my destination was Great World City and he took me to Vivo City.
"At this point I told him that I would get off the cab. He then told me that he would lodge a police complaint against me saying that I boarded the cab and refused to make payment, threatening me by saying that he had all my information since I had made a booking.
"At this point, the cab fare was around $17-18.
"So I made him an offer saying, okay then, let the meter stop and take me to Great World City and I would drop the matter.
"He said 'No. You have to top up an additional $5. If not I wont drive you to the location and you get off here'.
"I asked for his name and he said very rudely, 'There is no need for me to give you my name, you just take down my taxi number'.
"He continued by saying that 'When you lodge the complaint, I can argue with the company or police saying that you spoke inaudibly and said Vivo City and Not Great World city, and I can further say that why would I be so foolish to drive you to the wrong location? "
"All of these was said in Mandarin.
"I was already very late for an important job interview, and this particular driver still refused to budge or apologise when he is in the wrong.
"So I had no choice but to agree and let him take me to Great World City with the additional $5 charge making it $22.
"It is very frustrating that Trans Cab is allowing this kind of driver on the road. Taking a cab is meant to be a pleasant and enjoyable experience and yet this driver is making it troublesome for me.
"The entire journey the cab driver was rude and unreasonable.
"It is wrong that he took me to the wrong destination, and he even refused to apologise, insisting that he is right and that I was the one speaking inaudibly.
"I would like that Trans Cab do something about this serious matter."

this type of driver is the bad apple of the industrial. May be the red lady boss in charge should sack him. too many taxi drivers on the road now. get rid of one it ok. but again this is just one side of the story.

TC management will tell the pax go fly kite...that is one good point in driving for TC, complaint bo laksa one lah.

LTA will pass it to taxi company, LTA more care on violation of traffic, molest, thief and breaking of laws.
And please be remind that this is a one side story, stomp is a complain forum, this is a young driver, I kind of choose not to believe that he is entirely wrong, there must be some teething problem that happened before such commotion existed.
As such, these are more of service provider and service receiver issue, LTA sure to push to TC.
Be remind that stomp is not a former complain, just a kpkb

Can complain to LTA. Overcharging. Vivo City to GWC the most another 6 km or $3.70.
12 demerit points and $500 fine.

Bro Bowah, why do we need LTA if they care more on violation of traffic, mo;est, thief and breaking of laws when we have TP and SPF?

He asked for extra $5 to go to GWC instead of using the meter. If use meter, fare would have been $3.70. It is weekday non peak. So there is an overcharge of $1.30 or so.

TC as my friend said, maybe even the PM complain might not jalan. CDG every complaint is treated like a murder case.

Whao, like that I better jump ship lor...
However, it's not the company that matter, it's the attitude of the driver that is important. .
During my course, I had a coffee chat with my lecturer and he foresee better prospect for local taxi industry. ..comparable to London cabs..
Hope it would hhappen. . But when you see such articles, you would think how long is it going to take.. Of course, passengers must be of London cabs type..willing to compromise lah...

London cabs - the real ones, will kill you with the fares. In the UK most people take a mini cab as opposed to a London cab. London cabs usually have the better drivers and they own their vehicles, mini cabs belong to a company.

He's referring to that standard. . But I think given the type of exposure that we TD got...

Still I see there will be improvement and hope those who think they are above the rest and think they can do whatever they want (illegally) without getting caught...Good luck. ..Definitely, the relevant parties are looking into it.. just a matter of when only... How does this sound?

I thot LTA is higher than TP in regard to road safety and laws. TP is only a watch dog, LTA set the rules and laws. TP make sure people follow, and SPF is of course will get involve once it is a criminal offence. -

I think it is bloody bold of this TD to ask for $5 outright. It is one thing to be rude to pax, but another thing altogether if you try to extort money. If LTA reads this stomp article, I hope they take action.

I think both parties need to drink coffee @ LTA.
Maybe meter has stopped at Vivo and pax wants to go to great world. But again, these two location sounds different, how to go wrong? Pax should also know when it has gone out of the usual route and inform driver
Afternoon timing, there's no other cabs available? Why still carry on with same driver?

Oh, very common la....
Why sometime we TD go out of the way, pax still keep quiet?....
Because they thought you got new faster route to their destination, but never know is the wrong destination.....
Many time I encounter also, normally is not the pronounce of the words, is more likely we TD suddenly think other wise....
Like got once pick up at Woodland, pax say Temasek Poly, knn, me think also never think straight sent her to Republic Poly in Woodland, common mah, Woodland to Woodland, my mind just blank suddenly lor....
Than when reach Republic Poly, "Uncle, mine at Tampines"....
"Oh! So sorry, why I go wrong direction, you never remind me again?".....
"I thought you got faster route mah".....
"Ok la, uncle restart my meter la"......

i also got one time pax say go Great World city,but in my mind i was thinking Vivocity!then travelling half way thro pax complain how come different route fr normal.then pax say it's Great world city!reach liao,pax ask for discount!i never give and i told pax told me Vivocity!then i say his voice recorded by mine lousy in car camera!suddenly he get scared and keep quiet!

Great World City,Vivo City,Velocity,Ngee Ann City, Chong Pang City.Raffles City....
It's easy to get them wrong. How you handle it is important. Just say sorry and give discount.
I always confirm location. Temasek Poly. "Tampines one?" Yes uncle.
Why some TD so difficult to open mouth one? Got bad breath issit?

Maybe drive until too tired to open mouth...lols. Most are smokers, open mouth scare cig smell not so nice...lols.
For me, non smoker, everyday got brush teeth, put cologne at oriental hotel, pax come inside, smell already, cab clean clean also shiok mah, even tho a crown. Then I will use my big grin and ask, hello, good afternoon, how is your day?? then press the meter, after the exchanges of greetings, then ask, and where can i take you? Mostly pax will said "Oh.sorry.eh, temasek poly uncle"
Then I replied jokingly, "Uncle not from temasek poly lah, I sex 2 only"
"Temasek poly is near??..Tampines? right?"
Pax replied "yes yes uncle, you damn funny..hahaha"
Then I replied, "As long as you happy can liao, eh..you know any best routes to go there or not"
Pax replied, "Sure Uncle, you turn left infront, go all the way to SLE then exist woodland ave 2, from there go all the way, I will guide you further..."
Like this Uncle me relax liao mah..nothing will go wrong

Aiyo, not everyone must open mouth and ask 1....
Students or army boys or teenagers are just like my kids, knn, still want me to ask them how to go?....
Must set example mah, these youngsters look upon us as elders you know, some of them, their father might be a TD also, when they on board and address us as "Uncle" is really uncle you know....
Many time, these youngsters will tell me to keep the change, always kanna fark by me....
"Why? your parent earn money not easy you know!!!"....

the rest like PRIME, SMRT and PREMIER seems quiet
