After reading all the comments, I should just learn to walk first. ie, getting to know all the routes in Singapore..
After driving about 9hrs today, got a current booking at kew cres. Went the wrong route and the caucasian passenger complain, scold vulgar(yellow skin, cunt, etc) and threaten to get my lisence revoked.
Just sharing my story....
Bottom line is.. Get back to driving..
Does TD so vulnurable to getting sacked?

You drive CDG right? CDG pax mostly Knnbccb one. Cos those cheapo know complaint liao have free taxi vouchers mah. Next time just fuck them back. Singapore not only CDG got taxi to drive.

When you are new, do a few things:
1. Confirm destination by the location. E.g pax say go Tanjong Rhu. You confirm by saying, East Coast, Fort Rd area?
2. Tell pax the route you will be taking. E.g. I go by AYE, then ECP. Don't ask them whether you should go by AYE. TELL them.
3. Tell them you are new.
4. If you do take a wrong route as in this case, after ur shift, go home do homework and study map. Find out where u went wrong and find the best route.

How do you tell pax you are new? after saying 2. "I go by AYE, then ECP". then say E.g. "I am a new taxi driver"?

It is not easy to be sack..you get 24 points before your license is revoked.If you are talking abt sack from coy..I dun know..for me..it is 2 accidents and bye bye. If you drive with caution and followed directives like a robot..there is little chance of you getting pok.
I'm a relatively new driver. I see my fair share of shit dished out by pax and I can feel your pain. When you are new, you aspired to be a nice driver and follow the book. Soon, you will realised that that is invidious to your mental well-being.
Ang Moh are the worst pax for newbies driver. They expect you to know the route well. Telling them you are a new driver will not work.They will tell you this..YOU LIVE HERE ALL YOUR LIFE!!! A lot of the them have white supremacy issue which is evidence from the way their treat you and their soft, brown skined Asian partner(s). A lot of them do not or don't bother with the culture here and they love to think that all TD are out to cheat them.
I avoid caucasion like a plague. I will not take their call booking or take any flag down from them. I'll grately leave and rejoin a Q should my pax be white. In fact, I derive pleasure from antagonizing them; I signal, slow down, turn on hazard, look them in the eyes, smiles, put busy and drove off - just to see them frustrated. Work well in morning, peak hrs traffic.
You might think I am a bad driver..on the contrary, paxes thought I am too gentlemanly to be a TD and need to change my image....this, I did..with good result..so if you are getting too much junk from your paxes..you might want to take a good look at yourself and see if you are easy game for pax.
And yes, AMG is heavy...if you take 4 AMG on your cab on short trip..the fare might not even pay for your petrol.

If taxi queing in taxi queue already can put busy and drive off? Wait at taxi queue then just happen that is ang moh pax.

Then act lor, knn, taxi drivers mostly are good actor mah, ask ang mo...in hokkien..knnccb knnccb..ang mo blur blur also dun take yr cab, then behind ang mo, one chio bu...then you nice nice use yr perfect english, good evening Miss, how is your day, and where may I take you to now? thank you miss...then help miss to unload stuff to lift, tell miss my name is bowah, then later may call up by company for best driver award..

paxes are easy to handle when you show, you welcome them, you like them, you do appreciate them.
they will forgive your shortfall when the above is shown.
but when the above is not shown............. prepared to do a PERFECT job.

Those border line in life type tend to be more knn....
Not difficult to locate this type of so call "expatriate"....
On board taxi, his phone never ring type, no email to clear type, no tele conference to attend type, don't even have ipod to get him entertain type...
This are the people, eye always on you and meter....
Solution to entertain this type of pax?....
No solution, kin kin accelerate and drop him fast....
Of course once you are very season TD, very rare will go wrong route la....

How to know if a person is tourist or staying in singapore one?
Last time I read someone said if tourist pax come up, comfirm destination already and just silently drive off, because even if tell them the route they also don't know, so keep quiet better to avoid any noise.

Oh, if tio current booking like what SK encounter, most likely is expat lor...
Some tourist attraction places like Mandai Zoo, if tio call, better don't take, 99% is local and destination they go, you know, I know la....
And if Mandai Zoo can tio call, meaning inside png liao, quick forget about the $2.30/$3.30, change shift "Chinatown" liao....

Focus on pax first ie getting to the destination. If make mistake, then explain that u are new. Dun the minute pax jump into ur cab, you tell him/ her that u are new. It is not their problem.

So best is do not say "I am new" is it? My thinking is say lesser, lesser noise and problem. I am unfamilar with roads so I do not suggest roads.
If I do like that good?:
1) Miss: Uncle go Sunset Way.
TD: Ok.
Slient action: TD press GPS and start moving. Then silent all the way until reach.
Or is it better like that?

Don't need to be so polite la...
Chio bu pax or kang bu pax, just use a firm tone can liao...
Like bro OT say, being new is not a crime....
"Morning, go where?"....
"Oh, I don't know the place, you know?"....
"You also don't know? Ok let's don't waste time, behind got another cab, you go try again"....
All this must done before moving out, don't knn move out, start meter than start to do the above....
Another example....
"Morning, go where?"....
"So usually how you go there?".....
Those everyday take cab type will sure tell you the way, they also scare you anyhow whack.....
Those seldom take cab type will just tell you "faster way" but some knnbccb pax will purposely tell you this to find fault with you....
If really don't know the place, please go back to my first example.....
If half past six, agar agar only, "ok, I will go by blar, blar, blar", inform liao mah, later on cannot find fault with you....
Many matters use can overcome a newbie shortfall, once you decided to be a TD, don't be afraid and becum gu nian, tone must be firm so even you are new, pax also won't makan you....
But of course must really make an effort to learn all the routes well, this 1, nobody can impart skill to you, only you yourself can help yourself.....

And beside asking, also remember to on meter, use signal, check back during moving out, if drive peak period, many jams here and there, go more time to chat or use yr GPS or smartphone to check the exact position.
Paxs behavorial is the same like you taking a taxis, if the driver asked and make provision to work hard to bring you to your destination, you will mostly appreciate it
