also got one professor who has a book and film of his life as TD,but don't know went back home to China or not.he makes more money with the book and film!also have Indian FTs driving sonata saw them at CBD area with GPS and looking lost!

Not surprising. Some are talents. Some are just foreign thrash.
Sent one prc guy. Got all the free education from spore. Citizenship. But his degree from ntu only knn 3rd class hons. Phui chao nua.
I got way better results than him. But i still have to pay back the 30k tuition loan. Knnbccb. He got free degree, lodging and allowances.....all courtesy of sillyporeans.
And after that, here to take away ur job.....

There is something very wrong with a system that selects so called foreign talents, offer citizenship and then only to have them end up as taxi drivers. Being in the so called "lower income" group, they need not pay income tax and get to enjoy all the government handouts. I have been paying income taxes for the past 30 years.
What have these people contributed to society in a land that embraced them?

B) you get a real talented person in, he dun need u to feed him, and certainly no need you to shelter him nor educate him, he gets fed up or have enuf, he just pack and go.
So, bearing no concern and apathy for the locals..who do you want to attract?

Got a frn who went to prison for drug consumption for less than a yr,upon release he went apply taxi license but kena reject say need to wait 3yrs then re apply again,went to see mp n letter send to LTA but still kena reject
Local wana reform n start fresh but don't give chance yet can freely approve "so call convert citizen" whose background is not fully known,funny rite?

Both are F**k policies...Should really focus on getting more people to procreate, like what others have done. F**k the baby bonus. Din work.
Both are easy way out... quickfix solutions. But as in all things, quickfix solutions don't last.
Economically wise, politically foolish. Short term benefits, long term liability.

Talent is a very individualistic concept, how we define talent is different from one another, some just base on education, some just base on skill, and most will base on can do and can deliver concept. Like I bring my car for repair, I dun care how many years experiences is the mechanic, nor what education he holds, as long as my car is repaired, tested and drive with no problem, I can rightly said, he is a talent, I will go back to him and also recommend frens.
Singapore ruling party had lost much of it humanity in ruling, they are much more profit driven than citizen drivern.
To generate more profit, more tax, more buyers of houses, more Gst and business, the only way in a resouceless nation is invest on peoples, with more peoples, profit increase from all levels. And in a long run of chasing for profit, our govt might had lost its way of governing a nation, more of a corporation than a nation.
As such, they die die must get the peoples in, if out of 10 beggars and can get 1 talent, they do not mind. But slowly, they also eroding the culture and values of this nation which most of us cherished as we are true blue Singaporeans. And with no value in it, your identity is lost, your direction is vague and your future might not be so pink as thot.
It will come to an extend that to identify a foreigner, just said KNNCCB to them, and you get no reaction from them, more funnier will be, they might said thank you to you.

Actually we cannot blame them. If you in their shoes, you would do the same right? I have taken cabs with Chinese and Indian nationals, also a HK once. They are of course citizens. New citizens, but still citizens what. The fault lies with those that gave them the citizenship.
But so far this is a small problem at the moment for the taxi industry. The bigger problem is for lower scale workers, who are losing jobs to them. That one must be solved first. As if you guys didn't know, taxi drivers since when became a priority?

not only taxi licence, they are also given priority in thousands of places in schools from primary to uni levels supposed to go to yr children borned and grown up here in SG..ask around n u will find the answers very simple the sucker can suck more from foreign students v.s. locals who only pay little...those in LTA blue vest on motorbikes with digital cameras to summon SG drivers..many are PRC or Indians FTs here to nap u for a commissions (extra income) ..yes 80%+ HDB home ownerships..are we happy? can we ? can our children be happier then us? SingaPOOReans...

Even you talk about HDB, thru the years, I seem to notice that Govt is pushing the citizens to live further away from the city, places like punggol, yishun end, sembawang, woodland, Jurong side..and the city are now becoming more reserve for rich foreigners who can paid the 20% stamp duty and all the upfront without a blink of an eyes.
So, dun we as citizens have a say on this?? why are we deprive of good location in our own land?
In ancient china, the emperor will kick those who he dun like out of the city wall, and this is exactly what is going to happen or already happening

Taxi driving are for Singapore Citizenship holder, not Singapore BORN Citizen
So, foreigner become citizen to drive Taxi, why not
and there will be more....... to substain the ongoing increasing of Taxi Drive cost

Once infested, these virus will not go off, same to marine and construction trade, first a few foreigners came in, they said they are here to help us, create job for us and also less stress on us.
End up, we no more job, drive taxis...and now taxis start to show sign of few of these foreign born Singaporeans, and as local born singaporeans aged and go away,...
in the next decade, we will see more of it to service the 6.9millions peoples.
