Overhaul of taxi

Hi guys anyone know what is the mileage when taxi need to overhaul? My taxi is tow back last Thurs because the connector of the radiator broke when I warm up the engine. Engine is not over heated as I did not drive the cab. Today went down to the workshop the mechanic says might need to overhaul. But I told him engine is not over heat how come need to overhaul? My mileage only 27XXXXkm 2 year old plus taxi so fast need to overhaul meh? Anyone can advise?

There 2 types of overhauling, half and full.
Half overhauling if vehicle is still in ok condition, and in pte car, it cos about $5k with gasket change and all other services. Half overhauling is only removing the top engine cover and all those fuel injectors, liners, piston, piston rings, connecting rods and crankshaft will be visual inspection, and if found worn, might need to change. And that may go into full overhauling.
A full overhauling is when engine is jerking, heat up faster than usual, take more fuel and lots of exhaust fume were noted. And of course, knocking sound and lack of power. A typical full overhauling can cost about 10k for pte car. Not including parts changes needed.
What I quote here is base on agent prices. For Taxis companies, they got their own workshop to do it, and with OEM contract, it will be much cheaper, basically, they can also use accident scrap vehicle to do the changing of parts.
The most a vehicle go thru overhauling is 2 times, one half and another full at 500000km, and thereafter, about to scrap liao.

Go ask him lor, half overhauling very fast come out liao, sometime, like cdg, it is TC rules to overhaul, so mechanic must follow order mah, what to do?
But just to take note that usually after flashing or overhauling of engine, consumption of fuel goes up.

Why high FC after overhaul?

Half overhaul is called Top Overhaul, in mechanic terms. Yours took 2 days, so it's top overhaul with gasket change, piston rings maybe only and no major parts change.

I think din do overhaul lah. Cos they scare the engine overheated due to the pipe burst. But I told them I only start engine the pipe burst so I immediately shut down the engine and call tow. So engine not even warm up yet. The themostat not even turn on to flow the radiator fluid. I notice water dripping so open bonnet to check. So should be they check engine no problem just change the radiator and settle my CNG issue. Can't be they do overhaul half a day. When I arrive at workshop around noon time they still not start on my car yet. They says they will only start after the finish with the existing car coming in for servicing.
