For Singapore road users awareness.
No matter how rich you are, you can't buy back your driving license. New traffic demerits point effective 1.6.2013
1. Beating red lights -6points & fined $100
2. Drink /drive -12 points, 5 years ban from driving
3. No seat belt, -3points & fined $100
4. Front passenger no buckle seat belt, -1 point, fined $50.
5. Using phone while driving, -3pts, fine $100.
6. Smoking while driving, -1 pt, fine $100.
7. Intentionally cover number plate, -12pts, maximum fine.
8. Speeding, -6 points
9. Front passenger below 14yrs old, -6 pts, fined $300.

Actually smoking all this while is not allow, even for private car...

So you can smoke 24 times, caught 24 times and still safe...

Sorry but have you been drinking? Where got such ruling? Using hp $1k fine. Plus forfeit of hp 12 pts. Drink driving where got 5 yr ban? Red Light 12 points. Smoking where got tp offence? And no 1 point offence. Minimum 3.

Front pax below 14 yo? Zun boh? Should be below 1.35 m in height, tio boh?
Using mobile phone with one hand. 12 pt, $1000 fine and/or jail. Cannot be so relaxed now right?
Drink and drive. If ban 5 years, give 12 pts for fark?

2. Charge court. Usually fine if no accident. Disqualification at court's discretion.
3 and 4. Only fine (no points I think)
5. Fine 1k. 12 points. Hp forfeited.
6. No offence.
7. Fine. ($100 or so) No points
8. Speeding. Depending on speed - fine to charge court. Demerit points vary.
9. Offence depends on vhild's height not age. Minor fine.

There is also now a few new TP camera on the road that can take both speed and chiong red light hor, saw one in Sin ming (thomson) going in into lornie and vice visa, another at Victoria and Arab st.
I saw even with green light, it took few shots for those speeding. So now, beware hor, TP got 2 in 1 camera liao hor
