Cannot use VISA cards fm 15 jul for CDG

Dear CabbiesWe regret to inform you that with effect from15 Jul 2013, VISA cards will no longer be accepted in our taxis.We have been accepting credit cards for the past 20 years with an administrative fee. VISA has now informed us that they do not allow us to charge any administrative fee. However, the administrative fee is necessary for the following reasons:1) to invest and maintain our payment terminals and systems2) to pay the banks’ fees and telcos’ charges3) to refund drivers by the next working day before receiving payment from the banks4) to absorb the fares in the event of customers’ disputes, if necessaryWe will be replacing the cashless window decal in your taxis in the coming weeks. You will also be issued a placard to be placed at the headrest to inform your passengers of the changes.If your passengers have further query on the VISA non-acceptance, you can advise them to call their card issuing banks for clarificationsRest assured that we will continue to promote cashless payments in our taxis with the other card issuers. -
Will be losing quite a lot of paxs esp. tourists, how abt other coys like SMRT or Transcab?

While we try no to violate the law, we might need to tell pax in advance if our cab cannot accept visa cards. Especially those plying the Airport and Hotel routes..

$10, $20, $30, $40....meter fare, pay smlj card...

They above reason are all valid, but they didnt tell us is......
5% is for the above reason, another 5% is their profit, and also...... fee for the lao da, gst

And most tulan is, they withdraw the service when there no $$$$, but when come to taxi driver, they expect us to provide that extra mile without $$$$$

Taxi Company can reject card for the whole fleet. TD reject card kenna complain and warning. Knn...

I think visa do not think that cdg is big enough in comparing to the public usage of Visa. Visa can do without cdg. Most banks today issue 2 cards to user, master and visa, I think it should not be a big problem for cdg.
Cdg position in rejecting Visa request also indicate that usage of Visa is not much, and for any TD on the road, including us, I believe, cash is still KING.

If usage of Visa is not much, why can't CDG absorb the admin fee?
Next time CDG gives warning to TD for not accepting credit cards, you can tell them: "you also reject Visa wat". Means cashless payment not important to CDG, so dun expect TDs to follow. Double standards. phui!!!

I believe this is a commericial issue whereby it had surface in the begining of this year, what tranpired during the meeting was that when Visa, in wanting to have a more share of the market credit customer, decided to take on cdg as a testing ground.Everyone of us Visa is a global profitable organisation, but it is losing it shares of the market due to many other cards surfacing both locally and internationally, and they even lost out in getting china customer which is one of the largest growing usage of credit cards country, they went for their own china type of credit cards that recently even cdg promoted the acceptance of it with lucky draw too.
Therefore Visa is losing competitive edge and take on cdg to tell them not to collect fees from customer, so that more will join visa instead of other cards, and if Cdg agree to it, it will set precedent to other establishment like restuarant, hotels..and so on.
So, on the negiotation table, cdg counteract Visa on why other establishment or organisation that work with visa charges their customers a percentage of the fees, like in certain restuarant, shops or booking airlines, if using visa, there are a certain surcharges, even if no surcharges, it had already billed in somewhere along the pricing. Can be the price of the food or cloth.
