How to know if you are inside or outside CBD?

Besides seeing the map, are there other ways to know that you are inside or outside CBD?

If u inside ERP gantry, also sometimes got signboard asking u to turn in, if u want to be inside CBD

Just look at the roop top display of those Taxi surround you.
If most of them is BUSY, then you are outside CBD.
If many of them Change Shift and some conduct interview, then you are inside CBD.

Only after 5pm, than CBD will have different...
Day driving, CBD or not make no different...

As a TD, you must know whether you're inside or outside of CBD at your figure tip. This is your rice bowl. Otherwise you may be applying wrong $3 surcharges and get yourself into trouble.
As Guide, once you've entered a ERP gantry, you're inside CBD. But if you crossed the sign that says "End of CBD", then you're outside CBD

once i was at UE sq,i thought inside CBD so charge him and even show him the map!that time both of us blur!

Another simple method....look around if there is a lot of people flagging at taxi stand but empty taxi with TAXI on top refuse to go pick up means outside CBD.....If dun go inside taxi stand pick nothing wrong right?

simple lah, when a street, you see many flagging for you, that one cheapo pax, not CBD, but if you see a street where taxi Q at stand and interview pax, more limo and red cabs than usual, then it is CBD time...lols -

careful hor, one of my friend got a warning from a un-uniformed LTA officer that board cab from marriot to centre point
he add $3 CBD surcharge, got away with warning as he's really new then

basically its easy to know where's inside the cbd zone as long as u have entered one, the rest after gantry is a cbd zone, u need to know the perimeter where it ends, esp near the rex cinema, niven road

I also kenna before, that time started CBD surcharge, but mine is differently lah, at CPF building forget to press surcharge, plaincloth LTA officer said, first warning.Then I ask why no press also get warning, then he said, you sabotage the rest, because of you some paxs asked/complained to other Taxi drivers why press surcharges, the other taxis (like me) no surcharges.., so do not be different.

Plaincloth LTA officer is it they will take taxi like normal passengers then end of the trip they will identify themselves as plaincloth officer and tell TD if any mistakes made, if TD no mistakes plaincloth officer do not identify themselves?

yalor, they also said I cannot wear slipper, I told them got Hongkong feet, so end up kpkb..with them. kenna
1. No press city surcharge - spoilt the market for other taxi drivers
2. Improper attire - no slipper allow
3. Cigarette smell- no smoking inside cab at all times (my hirer smoke mah)
All these just verbal warning, heng ar?? lucky that time ti kong po pi, I use to do interview, no no why did not interview that day, if not, tua ki liao, can tio pok one hor

Taxi Enforcement Officers fall under LTA, not Traffice Police, so they are civilian, meaning they got no uniform...
Their pass clearly shown Taxi Enforcement Officers, office located at Sin Ming HQ 2nd floor...
Got once, this normal LTA staff try to be funny with me, use his staff pass trying to act enforcement officer in my taxi...
I shoot him until he tio pok...
Do you know there's how many type of LTA pass? even those contractors also got LTA pass, knn all start to misuse their pass on taxi drivers, than we all si beh bo eng...

CBD and Airport surcharge are also location surcharge, except that they are more precise in showing the location of boarding. Technically, TD should not press CBD surcharge when picking up pax at say RWS or Airport. I wonder how many TDs are doing this???

Anything on other side of ECP, NO CBD as well as NO LOCATION SURCHARGE.
