Err..I also do that; for my sunday ride at BT.
Sometime, got take pax (those other bikers without car) from there when I finish ride but if muddy, I tell them to clean up first.
Anyway, not worth the investment if you buying just to ferry them. My Thule rack is $280. I got it because I do ride a lot..
There are bike ferry services for $20 include return trip...

u also mount your bike this way? but i think TP sees it as illegal, blocking number plate and drivers view..
bike ferry services for $20 include return trip meaning, bike and pax for a trip is $20 all in all?

Mine no problem..the number plate is not block (mine bike not full sus)..some of the other cyclists hang extra license plate. Got to admit, the back view is a bit block (left and right side, middle ok). I wanted to get the roof rack but think taxi co won't allow perm mounting and quite a hassle to remove everytime I use.
The problem of mounting these bike rack on cab is the rear boot will be dented and scratched. The pedal will hit the boot..need to place some protection there.
I used one before from olx.com.sg last year. From Hougang to Changi point at 7am then return trip @ 5pm. $20 per pax + bike. We have 4 pax so paid $80. It was a kangoo van and very tight squeeze with 4 bikes...we end up taking cab back and have the guy delivery the bikes to our house.
Anyway, saw a TD (epica) trying to squeeze this AngMoh bike into his boot @ Youngberg Terrace on Saturday.
I wanted to stop and tell the uncle not to take the angmoh pax but did not.
The bike is a Pinarello dogma. NOT CHEAP..Can pay rental for months...
The uncle whack the bike into the boots and slam the boot twice to get it to close.
The angmoh face very black and very steam when he slam the boot.
The bike is carbon..if scratched or damaged..I don't know what the angmoh will do.

For me, no lah, at jalan buroh, bicycle tyre punctured, send rider and punctured tyre to west coast bicycle shop, wait a while, then return, like this i use to settle at $30 to $40 with them.
Then later after shift, can go west coast and hv a drink

then why find trouble? for bikes, i let them handle.....they can brk into two or take out wheel to put in boot, they do it on their own lor....
i just stand behind and watch. make sure they dun scratch my cab.
fetched one angmo lady from sentosa. she took out the front wheel.....bike still protude out. she tried to take out the rear.....haha. finally she gave up..... i just use the bungeerope to secure the boot.....confirm with her ok....then i move...
reach her place. take out, and quickly leave....cannot assemble, not my prob.
