Hong Kong just introduced full electric taxis a few days ago. Charging time is 2 hrs and each charge can travel 300km. Understand it is on a six month trial.
If Singapore introduced this and the rental is the same or slightly higher than normal, I will be keen, if charging station is convenient maybe like at their depots or something.
It's rented out in HK at HK$8,000 a month. That's SGD$1,291 or $43 per day. Of course, HK cars no COE, ARF.
Think will happen anot? Save $50 diesel a day = $1,500 into pocket every month.
how much road does a taxi ply each day...?
300km counted a long distance by TD anot?
I'm more interested at the Race Queen....

Now LTA required per taxi mileage of 250km per day....
300km? Confirm pass.....
electricity no need money? the cons is the charging time of 2 hours. what you going to do during these two hours? The charging station wont be at the car park near your house.... the taxi is selling at around S$60000.. so add in taxes + COE, then the rental will be around 150 daily?
Singapore is not said cannot use electrical, but if you think properly, if all taxis go into electrical, our Jurong island can close shop liao, our bukom can stop functioning and most important, our govt will become poorer and poorer.
There is a conspiracy to let oil be the power runner here, all because of $$, not because of clean energy or green world effect.

If you manage to know them, ask them about their mother for me. Thanks

Electricity rates $0.26 per kwh. Each charging needs 60kwh, so about $16, still cheaper than diesel. If on trial basis, COE, taxes waived. Understand trial can be up to 2 years. After that, depends on taxi Co.,LTA and NEA. COE can be stretched to 10 years cos no pollution, unlike current diesel models.
2 hrs charging. Aiya, wash vehicle, lim kopi, come here tcss, time's up liao. Depends on opportunity cost - how much can earn in 2 hrs vs savings in diesel costs.
HK would be a good case study for electric taxis.

better dun trust the MIC cars too much.... even Japan/USA are not that good in this electric car technology yet.... look at the new london taxis that came from china?
unless they can use the Japan (mitsubishi) electric cars, but they cost around S$90 000 even without ARF and COE...
SBS Transit bought in 2 electic buses from china two years back and they did not make it on the roads at all. only been seen doing some trial inside NTU and now the buses are rotting...

ya lah. That is the only unknown in the equation. But, Shenzhen got many electric buses and taxis..like bo dai ji leh.
Nebermind lah, let HK be guinea pig.
I guess it will never happen just my 10cents.. if happen jurong island really can close shop liao
Yalor, Singapore is not scare of no oil, they scare no one using it only, the US and Arabs had already get hold of the oil as the threat to the world, singapore is a top refinery place for them, those super tanker berth and downloading cruel oil at bukom is a big business, if oil is no more the biggest commodity beside gold, USA and Arabs and even Singapore is history.
Aiyo..the most Singapore will hab is 100 or 200 electric taxis only lah...no threat.

No leh.
Shenzhen there got one e6 chu daiji
I mean....the battery so good quality, did not explode, but the body shell turned out to be some lousy construction that caught fire and killed the people inside anyway. Kinda ironic right, but this is really MIC for you.
No. I am not anti-PRC, but just being objective.
And many govt officials who were sold onto the BYD cars suddenly chua sai because of this. The battery sui sui, but the rest of the materials inferior.

CDG has 2 (or is it 4) Toyota Camrys, license plate I think SHC 2910 and 2911. Are these electrical cars?
