Originally posted by RotaryEngine:teolk, did you also get info from smart? do they have cng with the lowest rental?
They have the kia caren cng rental $90plus with some bonus.contract 4years I think.Another reason I chose Prime is that you pay only the nett rental everyday. No bonus no free rental all these nonsense, pay $90plus first then end of the mth rebate few hundreds.end of the day lppl take back your own $$$ you put in the first place
For prime,everyday deduct $76 that's all
the $5k bonus is attractive but also they pay you using your own $$$,just treat as forced saving as i mentioned
Originally posted by RotaryEngine:for Prime, i just wonder why the deposit is the same for cng or petrol. Then the bonus payout is twice the amount for cng?
This q I ever wondered b4 also. cng rental will always be $3 more than the petrol counterpart if u notice. so a cng wish rental is $80 nett & petrol wish will be $77 nett.
you take $3 multiple 5years you will get the $5000 extra.
so it's lppl also
So i chose the petrol version eventually & save all the hassle of going mandai as i'm staying in the east
mentor pool stay cck so cng is a gd choice but not for me
you know, i read those $xx* - with a symbol *.... many advert gimmicks...
i don't buy into that and also what benefits lah..booking lah...rebates...goodies....
looking for the real low rental stuff (for new auto), money deposit is not an issue but i've phobia signing on....
also not so sure what up next for rule & regulation changes....
Tan better to start driving as relief first then after maybe 6mths you can decide what you really want.
outside company can only offer me $2000 basic as sales exec, still need to have own car & they pay transport only $400/mth??? motorbike also cannot keep lah
So now i have a new car with all paid for, salary min $3k,own time own target
So I'm very very sure that I will stay for the next 5 years
I always tell people, your car is a $$$ losing car but mine is a $$$ making lol

teo, different scenario for me. i'm not employ but self employ.. too much suka suka time...i sold away my last car since after they introduce the coe. idiotic and clever money sucking system in the world to own this cert for 10 years....i smell it and i sell it off and no more ownership of car...sometime i rent if i need one....
my area too many relax type of omo... i already survey and reccee...
i even saw one smrt crown parking there every day. some wanted to have own freedom...and no headache with relief.....

PS: Some updates,I've signed up for Prime's Toyota Premio & will be collecting new taxi Mid Aug:)
old dear Teo ..... I am not wih u here , signing for Prime .
Cos the taxi industries kept changing , this mth diesel goes up ,. next come petrol come down , then cng got rebates etc .....
Who knows one fine day , someone came up with something which offers better money than prime ?
Then u go forward also sian , go back also cannot sutuation . This has already happen when Smart Kia Carens hirer wanted to return after siginng 5 years contract , they went as a group . Their reasons : CNG refill a massive problem for them . Only one pump at Mandai etc ....
Toyota Wish , after tested for 2 weeks , i discovered more advantage than disadvantage for OMO .
First advantage , it is a very popular model on the road for commuters . They love it .
Midnight especially , good .

My philosophy is quite diff ... rental to me is not the issue for me , always not an issue , what's $3 ?
One pax only , juss one more pax , $3 is up .
The main thing must be shiok driving a taxi .
Must have people taking taxis . Taking your taxi . ie .
poolie man, can the toyota wish taxi mount 2 mountain bikes behind the back? my sons and myself are mountain bikers....we would like to try out the dirt tracks...
poolie, so is prime toyota wish nett rental at $100/day?

bro i'm not saying cng no good but just that i'm comparing the bonus part between a cng & petrol for prime.if you take cng bonus is $11000 & $5000 for petrol.but u pay $3 more everyday for cng so you will get $5k extra aft 5 years.it's actually the same

i agree with u but I can't wait anymore,my contract with smrt just ended & i really can't see myself con't with the crown, they offered me the epica saying will be launched very soon, but rental $107 with gst:( very siong leh
then i consider joining comfort sonata but rental also $100 plus sigh, unless i decided go only 12hrs become relief but that's not what i intent to do.
so the next best option for me is Prime,at $76 i'm comfortable, auto & new car which is exactly what i want, cos I need to use the car for my other biz as well
I've learned a lesson with smrt, queue for almost 30mins at their 1 & only geylang lor 1 kiosk & glad that next time all esso/mobil will be my kiosk
if some other better deals pop out next time(very likely it will) I guess it can't be help,as long as i'm ok & comfortable with the present deal then i'm fine...grass always greener at the other side
if petrol shoot up to say $3/l, i guess i just need to drive longer hrs to compensate.but if this really do happen,LTA will surely implement the fuel surcharge again
I may also consider the Toyota wish petrol version, with option to convert to cng in the future if east side open a cng station,I got 2 wks to revert back to prime
Originally posted by RotaryEngine:poolie, so is prime toyota wish nett rental at $100/day?
no bro, prime wish is at $79 nett for petrol (bonus $5000) $82 for cng(bonus $11000)
unit comes with DVD player & reverse sensor
sigh y can't some company intro a diesel auto taxi & charge rental at $78 with 1 year contract?
i guess it will help alot of us

bro , no way , hahahahah the 2 gas s consumed me almost the whole boot .

ya , to be tied down by 5 years contract ? That will be the last if no options .

Teo , who offered u a Epica ???? SMRT launching Epica for $107 ?
I heard Comfort coming back with Crown , an automatic one , now has got a couple on trial on the road .... sounds cheaper alternatives auto taxis .... guess it could be around $90 ....
teolk, my opinion of the best of both is to have cng and switch to petrol as back-up like the transcab wish.
more logical, the cng+petrol balance up, if crude oil goes up, so petrol and diesel will go up tandemly. cng may not be cheap now but it is another factor you have to consider.
to me : 1800 cc and 1500 cc is not much of a difference. if you ferry more weight, you actually puff your engine harder especially in a very hot day....
even though you are omo, but you want durable car and comfort. When a saloon model car is converted into taxi....it is a different story altogether as it is not designed to undertake "ironman".

it's your own decision you have to made. don't forget that why u are in this forum that we poolie, talk, everyone inject their opinion. however you still have to make your own decision.. Don't rush...
i've confirm the premio but can change to other b4 7th aug. will read up more b4 confirm:)

Good to hear that you still have time to change it.....
More to inject in my opinion:
1) smaller engine cc doesn't mean you will save.. engine work harder, if you run it as taxi and it is not design for it, then too bad... especially the suspension system, and also don't forget the engine is driving the aircon compressor...i think in the 2nd year, it is totally worn off as a taxi...

pool, what kind of crown with auto? is it a new engine too? or just convert the gearbox only? same body design or better one? the current crown body design is not stable..
