Cabbies get S$21.50 chicken rice to commemorate hotel's new entrance
SINGAPORE: The Meritus Mandarin Hotel along Orchard Road has got
a new lobby entrance facing the Takashimaya shopping centre.
Taxi-drivers were given some VIP treatment as part of the celebrations.
These cabbies were among the first to receive the hotel's famed chicken rice from the Chatterbox outlet.
In all, some 1,000 boxes of chicken rice were handed out to the
cabbies. A plate of the hotel's chicken rice usually costs S$21.50.
The giveaway commemorates the hotel's new entrance, as the old one
facing the Heeren is renovated to make way for a high end shopping
centre. - CNA/vm

lets just put it this way, even if the whole world says that a certain place sells good chicken rice and food experts all ard the world have flown here to eat it and said that its the best chicken rice ever made and no others are comparable, i will still pay only $2.50 for it.. maybe $3 if im feeling hungry.
it's chicken rice come on.. how good can it get..
21.50 can buy me a whole chicken..
When I saw the price I guessed it was Mandarin Chatterbox liao.

Go see lah. They have newspaper cutting at their stall.
Everyone I know is a huge fan of this delicious chicken rice and plus, it's nice to eat such a famous dish in nice, comfortable air-conditioned ambience once in a while! =) The price may be a little steep considering one can get cheaper and cheap chicken rice in hawker centres and kopitiams but let's face it, Meritus Mandarin Singapore does ensure their Chatterbox chicken rice comes in a generous portion and plus, the rice and chicken are of quality standard! Enjoy lar! :)
