If you're still in BRT then next few weeks you'll learn all the basic rescue techniques, how to use rescue equipment like ladders, extrication devices, etc.. Along with physical training and footdrills of cos.Originally posted by psk_ash:wonder next few weeks got wat type of activities.. anyone can share??

All I can say is..."Live To Save, Medics"Originally posted by Unidentified:coz hor i pes A , i think high chance kena ERS or firefighting , but i prefer to be a medic (ambulance) , but think back above 2 also not bad leh
What the market value of each of those vocation ?
actually i find tat it is more towards the individual... erm... the pay for the ERS is quite high.. as what they say la.. pass out of the ERS course straight get 700 -800 i forget le.. which is very fast...Originally posted by Unidentified:but hor , people in scdf are more willing to go ERS or firefighting anot ? or the prefer to snake around or do clerk job

As psk_ash says it really depends on the individual lah.. depends on where your interests lie. If you're into fighting fires(or playing with fire? lol) and doing the heavy lifting in rescue operations, then go ERS/FFC. If you're into blood, gore, and "saving lives", then go medic. If you're into simple non-physical work, go clerk.Originally posted by Unidentified:but hor , people in scdf are more willing to go ERS or firefighting anot ? or the prefer to snake around or do clerk job

station will definitely see real action.Originally posted by fwert:As psk_ash says it really depends on the individual lah.. depends on where your interests lie. Let me add some points which is relevant, from what I've observed-
- Clerk doesn't mean no stress, cos you're under the big shots/officers and there may be politics.
- Seems like most guys would rather go ERS/FFC because it's "siong" and is "more manly".
- To me, as long as you're posted to station it's going to be more or less fun, as you'll be seeing real action; not many ppl have such opportunity.
- However not everyone will be able to handle such "real action", as it can be intense.
- Firefighters have less calls then medics, thus ambulance work can be exhausting.
- You should have character and a sense of responsibility if you're posted to station, if not, I got nothing to say..
- Lastly, there are other vocations, and the decision is not up to you anyway! ahaha
o , so u see corpse before ? share some experienceOriginally posted by dumbdumb!:station will definitely see real action.
ambulance every 1/2 hour sure got call like that. i guess fires don't occur that frequently, but injuries and cardiac arrests do.
oh, just a little advice, don't look a corpse in the face, look from the feet up. less likely to get nightmare
ya, nsf oso carry same rank, do same stuff.Originally posted by Unidentified:o , so u see corpse before ? share some experience
and isnt those job done by the sign-on's , NSF also do that ?

Nope, I'm not the "pantang" kind as I believe that we are not the ones who cause their deaths & I'm sure "they" will understand as well as we're doing our best to helpOriginally posted by Unidentified:are you very pantang kind ? like every DOA case , then go back camp or home must wash flower water ? Actually its up to you but do it privately as some medics in station are "bastards" coz they like to disturb by teasing & making fun of you when they find out your habitOriginally posted by Unidentified:actually i dont mind la , but if i go station , i will have a habbit of bringing leaves or flower to camp lor , so duty end i just wash face abit lor
