hahaha... im back... sian leh i still got 12 weeks to go... pes Bp platoon.. everything is ok la... but everything need to standardize and need to be very KILAT.. if not half right down... haha... but looking forward to more activities in there... it seems like a big school with time table and lessons to follow.. so just listen to the instructors and everything would be fine.. hohoho

If you're still in BRT then next few weeks you'll learn all the basic rescue techniques, how to use rescue equipment like ladders, extrication devices, etc.. but hor , people in scdf are more willing to go ERS or firefighting anot ? or the prefer to snake around or do clerk job
coz hor i pes A , i think high chance kena ERS or firefighting , but i prefer to be a medic (ambulance) , but think back above 2 also not bad leh

As psk_ash says it really depends on the individual lah.. depends on where your interests lie. If you're into fighting fires(or playing with fire? lol) and doing the heavy lifting in rescue operations, then go ERS/FFC. If you're into blood, gore, and "saving lives", then go medic. Let me add some points which is relevant, from what I've observed-
- Clerk doesn't mean no stress, cos you're under the big shots/officers and there may be politics.
- Seems like most guys would rather go ERS/FFC because it's "siong" and is "more manly".
- To me, as long as you're posted to station it's going to be more or less fun, as you'll be seeing real action; not many ppl have such opportunity.
- However not everyone will be able to handle such "real action", as it can be intense.
- Firefighters have less calls then medics, thus ambulance work can be exhausting.
- You should have character and a sense of responsibility if you're posted to station, if not, I got nothing to say..
- Lastly, there are other vocations, and the decision is not up to you anyway! ahaha -

ambulance every 1/2 hour sure got call like that. i guess fires don't occur that frequently, but injuries and cardiac arrests do.
oh, just a little advice, don't look a corpse in the face, look from the feet up. less likely to get nightmare -
haiz... too bad i dun think i can be a medic.... but anyway... got a small question to ask.. they say those tat pass ippt onli need to serve 1year 10 months.. then those fail one.. 2 years..
wat abt those exempted?? i dunno i had to serve 2 years or 1year 8 months.. becoz got something related to my future studies.. haiz.. -

I dont think that will affect oneself from a chance to the station ba -

1. on order to be a medic, do we need to pass our IPPT?
2. how long would the course be?
3. any other special requirements to be a medic?
and finally
4. do we get to choose the vocation?

the course if i am not wrong, also 6 mths.
no, for all the vocations, you get interviewed, then see heng sway wan lor. i guess u can say that u're really really really interested in it. maybe got higher chance.
chances not v high, cuz alot of vocations, got storeman, got pti, got provost..
