Let's look at the current P variants we have.
358P/359P (doing okay... as capacity on existing services not good enough... 359 would be a good case for DDs)

It's abit OT, but if you do realise, what they did for Sv 358P & 359P, was that they got the staff from the private operators to stand at the Int at the berth. And then when the private buses come, the staff will shoo the pax (or if you prefer a more direct manner, force the pax) up onto the private buses plying Sv 358's & 359's route.
The return trips are usually less than 30% full from what i observe for Sv 359P, even during Peak..

Same case for 291P and 293P where I have seen ground staff literally force people to take bus. Seen so many people not wanting to board those ugly buses... People who don't like to stand in queue.. Happily board.

That's a real waste, considering the amount of money poured in is quite significant.

I thought LTA has some kind standard for those so call public bus? like doors must be like those sbst or smrt buses size must be able to carry at least 80 people? I think LTA should set a standard for those PTE bus company which win the licence for public bus operator. like having a sign board with big display like those use in sbst old bus

The standards of private bus operator buses is very poor. Period.

972 should be getting more E500s in the next round. In addition, E500s could be introduced on one more service, mostly HF bound either 188 or 963

still it is LTA problem to set a standard for private bus operator, like sbst or smrt bus have a proper sign board display on the windscreen with direction and number and LTA logo. I think maybe the service is still new for the customers or passengers LTA should have adv on radio traffic news to let people know.
So any more new DD service for smrt?

For 106, 190 - all BSEP slots already converted, unless you add another ADL add - but that would be unecessary coz these services now need SMRT SD --> DD conversion
AMDEP services not possible, Yishun interchange services not possible yet. Feeders/intra-towns, we dont want DDs yet.
Given these circumstances, 188, 963, 951E, 169 are the only trunks I can think of for next round.
