bus operators in HK are mainly KMB, CTB, NWFB
The above operators buses operate in HK island, Kowloon, NT, Lantau island[Tung Chung, Chak Lap kok] so boy wat are you uttering?!
A measly little knowledge is not to be shown off to...
Southern district train stations are under construction linking them to Admiralty station completed late 2014

KMB operates 395 svc in Hong Kong, which is < # of svc sbs + smrt + ctb + nwfb.
Though KMB covers ALMOST every inch of HK, it doesnt serve the southern district of HK Island.

KMB does not operate HK Island, those are Cross Harbour Rts.
He nvr mentioned "ERL MTR buses are operated by MTR". He DIDNT.
KMB does not operate HK Island svc, but its services DO cover HK island.
The owner of K16 is KCR (before merger with MTR), and it outsourced the svc to KMB to operate. So, KCR (and subsequently MTR) holds the license of K16.

North Dist was mentioned... Those are the ERL feeders.
They're not considered Island Svs, they're cross harbour svs. Who on earth would want to spend HK$20 to travel within Islands?
The ERL feeders are operated by KMB to enjoy some rebates which franchised operators get

395 svs... But overall ridership has even been overtaken by SBST.

Hmmm must be buddy buddy with Mark Chua liao so that i can ask him to write in for me to:
1. Have all citaros REMOVED from sv16 and put in ALL JB MKIIIs
2. upgrade 1st 2 buses of sv196e to DDs so that i would not get squashed
3. change sv36 fleet to partial Scanias[not Citaros] and MKIIIs
4. Remove the 4 Scanias from 147 n put one of them to 163 so that the 163 DD go to 147
5. CUT 113 fleet to 5 buses n improve freq for sv62 for OFF PEAK
6. 113 fleet to be downgraded to Scania batch 2 Euro IV to have more standing space so that there will be no more complaints/requests to upgrade 113 to DD fleet due to capacity issues.
That should be my wishlist…
Hope someone is listening…ACx
do you know how many people are taking 113? 113 with 7 buses frequency already very cui. 5 buses , cant imagine.
and btw, what do you mean by cutting fleet and there’ll be no complaints? it should be adding more buses so that there will be no complaints..
and btw, if you are not a frequent commuter of 113, dont suggest fleet cut. It is essential for people living in lorong ah soo area.
Kids. I dun wish to feed the trolls, but there's some facts that has to be mentioned.
1) JB MKIII are due for retirement. like it or not, Citaro are the replacement buses. They've to appear somewhere.
3) Airport Svs uses KUBs for a reason. As again, MKIII are due for retirement.
4) 147 can still live with KUBs, in fact most of the time they're well dispatched to the slightly lower demand trips.
5 & 6) KUBs and typical SD's licensed capacity is abt 80. No difference. Simi squeeze more people?
I'd rather SBS dispatch more buses to Svs like 72, 74

It's all because so and so demand for this, I make a counter right?
I would have no doubts into 'chap' with more lamenting and countering offers to let ppl figure out what's going on.

Anyway, what I mentioned are what I noticed. Furthermore, ops issues are only known and restricted to a handful of ppl's knowledge

The post was in response to Mr Mark Chua who so called "have assess" to SBST senior management.
sbst275,
1. Citaros are the replacement buses but SBST can actually use the JB MK IIIs for sv16 1st and later redeploy striders/DM3500s for sv16 till the striders/DM3500s retire wic will then have other types of buses available
3. of course i know scanias are used for a reason but the capacity of sv36 cannot meet the demand
4. Would you like to take KUBs in the evenings where they are deployed twds HG CTRL and most cannot board. KUBs on 147 deployment schedule is not fixed
5.6 Fren , a batch 1/2 scania can squeeze more standing pax than EEV which is why more batch 2 scanias are on sv36 during peak and weekends...
No1 is demanding anything as mentioned coz it is a fact, as mentioned t5he post was in reference to Mr Mark Chua claiming to know Senior mgt in SBST,PERIOD
For the above written by me it is 1st hand experience as a user of the services, so dun doubt me & you are right to say people from SBST are monitoring this forum
SBS5010P dun b a smart aleck & question whether of i am frequent user of a particular service, can i ask whether you have taken other area buses and know of the loading factor before you stop spouting illogical requests?!

i stand by wat i said for the buses to be deployed to sv62
5 buses is sufficient, you do not even need the bus to park at the interchange, can just change BCs at interchange

Actually had wanted to talk abt it.
1) I think 16 being a CBD & Orchard corridor sv, Citaro do a priority of getting them :)
2) I do understand the issue w/ Sv 36, but there's some ops issue of it's looping style ops. I'm trying to find a way to address this problem.
3) The 147 is what I've noticed. heng suay condition. Any case, when they dispatch single decks to a dominatly DD rts, by right if anything were to remember over the 'run number system', I believe there's supposed to be allocated SD slots.
4) The licensed capacity for KUB is fixed at 87, in fact MKIII's is 81. Diff of 6 person afterall even less if there's PIW onboard. There's a licensed capacity issue as there's safety load. This applies to the VO2x these days.

Yah i know but i cannot board the bus evening, weekday night and weekend afternoon coz too crowded & sv16 BCs like citaros...2) I do understand the issue w/ Sv 36, but there's some ops issue of it's looping style ops. I'm trying to find a way to address this problem.
There are frequent gaps during weekend afternoon periods that wait time is more than 20mins...3) The 147 is what I've noticed. heng suay condition. tts y tt day i damn sueh, 2 crowdeds K230UBs then 2659M all in the span of 25mins, no DDs... SIANZ4) The licensed capacity for KUB is fixed at 87, in fact MKIII's is 81. 16's weekend condition I'll do a check again. Been hearing of it and figured it's clustered to some time belts.
36's hard to get rid of the problem as long as bus is perputal run system. Was thinking of something else.

Remember, not 20 dollars but 5 dollar plus due to distance fares...
ok, so it's ran by KMB, but it's UNDER MTR. happy? make it clear now...

There's no distance fare scheme in Hong Kong
