Not 100% safe but still safer than Johor.
My friend nearly got robbed in Johor months back. Luckily nothing was stolen but his car windows were smashed... Luckily he don't drive a fancy car, else his car might be stolen as well and might have to walk back to Singapore.

I've not mentioned here wat goes on upnorth...
1) Lorry appearing at neighbour's place macham looking as if ppl moving house. It's actually ransacking ppl's place.

No, Citaros for Singapore use only.
Who says Citaros can be used in Singapore only?
Originally posted by MarcusJoshua:I have to diasgree with you. I strongly believe the Mark IV DM3500 & Striders are use as a stop-gap measure. Meaning to say that it's a temporary measure until a full fledge of 80-90(50 For 170, 30 For 160, 10 Spare in BBDEP) new & suitable bus model can be found for the 160/170. I'm hoping that the Citaro will do cross border in the future because it's really a good steady bus, vs KUB, somehow i feel the KUB bodywork is very light as compared to EVObus/mercedes Benz bodywork.
For me I'm looking forward to seeing them go cross-border and hope there will be enough DM3500/Striders for both routes esp 170. The desto plate(old plate on MK 3 or the common font plates found on 74, 157, etc) and the new side rectangular plate will be something i would want to see as it comes on svc. Wonder how the Blue Side rectangle plate(For kranji mrt to Kota Raya) will look like ?
Actually if the Volvo B10M Mark IV (DM) were introduced later, I would wish for them to be doing 160/170.
Now, actually it's time for 160 and 170 to have their destos changed, wish for red/white plates, and also the front destos with only numbers and words.

Better to use them in Singapore. Cater the needs for the aging population.
no point deploying new buses on JB routes..
they will be destroyed in a matter of months...
deploy older buses.. at least the cost of repair or write-off will be lower
1. nature of JB roads
2. attitude of passengers
the passengers profile and BC on 160/170/950 are different from local routes..
170 has pure local commuters only bet Bugis & Upp Bt Timah.. further north mostly Malaysians
160 local leg has some commuters bet Jurong East & Tech Whye/ Senja

It happened quite long ago a few years back when the MK2s were still on 170.The person who posted the info didnt tell the rego or what happened to the ppl involved in the end.
Spotted 2848M having it on 48 today

U mean 2838M??
It'll be hard to find buses as reliable as the B10Ms to replace them in the future.
Testimony to the reliability and ruggedness of the B10Ms.

The regos of Mark IV DM3500s were SBS2689B to SBS2838M. No buses were registered in SBS2839K onwards until SBS2888T.
