bbdep has around 90 DM3500s in its custody.
Wa with this, out of 90 DM3500s, 70-75(a rough estimate) of these buses will be needed for 160 & 170, what would happen to the fleet of svc 74, 74e, 92, 96,147,166, 196, 200, 282, 284, 285 who uses these DM3500s ? Fleet transfer from other Depots, or replace with Mercedes Citaro coming in this year ?

speaking of which, i believe the side desto will last longer liao.another random point.
The men in green will knock the bus one de la, easier to know when to move off..
it all depends on e timekeeper also, some would just dispatch regardless it's packed or not, some will just wait till bus is packed.
tat might explains at times how come 3 170X could arrive together w/ 2 main other reasons.

u have the JB Mk3s still in service. Its unlikely the JB Mk3s retire from service straightaway after its has been removed from 160/170.
If follow what the mk2s did last time, bbdep inherit alot of Mk3s in 2001 from amdep bndep hgdep, and another round in 2004 from bndep and/or hgdep just before 160 started.
After the mk2s left 170, they were scattered all over singapore - amdep bndep hgdep jrbp had them. Back then the mk2s were NAC so they had a slight restriction on where the mk2s can go after 170. That's partly why it got scattered over.
If history repeats itself, the JB Mk3s can go to amdep bndep and hgdep.

Don't think the MK3s are going anywhere as BBDEP had already trasnsferred out Striders to HGDEP and BNDEP beforehand, the MK3s might just internally replace DM3500s on several affected BBDEP services until the Citaros starts rolling in later this year.
I can still recall some services like 91 and 191 which were downgraded to a fully NAC service after 170 became FAC. Services like 95 and 151 were also downgraded from FAC to PAC.

(Off topic)
Services 32, 82, 103, 158, 265 etc - notice that these services were downgraded to PAC somewhere in 2005 during that time when SBST introduced a massive number of new bus services.

PAC? You mean OAC?
PAC = partial air-con

Originally posted by MarcusJoshua:Well that's to good to hear, i would welcome the new mercedes citaro's to go cross border. But having said that i hope SBST can buy more B7RLE, i think this bus model from volvo will be good for cross border services. Quite powerful this bus when i took it on svc 174.Originally posted by sbst275:
I would prefer the Citaros to stay inside Singapore and serve the services that provides more convenience to the elderly and handicapped. At least they do no need to climb up any steps.
I agree Volvo is a good choice. But since SBST is looking into stepless buses, might as well get the B9RLE. Else MAN buses is also a good choice that SBST should consider since many cross boarder coaches uses MAN coaches as well.
At last a successor of the Volvo B10M MKIIIs for JB services is being selected.
Are there special needs for 170? As like 161 or 168 refuelling 1/2 way into ops

There's a trade off for Citaro, the rear seats have ultra high indv incline, not going to be easy for kids to get a seat w/o help (safety hazard when bus is moving).

That is the trade off. Hope the new Citaro model will address this problem.
Was onboard 2724 the other day and noticed there were CCTV installed. If i didn't rem wrongly, JB regged buses ain't supposed to have them?
On a sidenote, CCTV are also installed on 2761A as seen today.
Lots of DM3500 spotted with 3rd brake lights. About 3 from Sv 93, 1 from Sv 111.
