  Yes. Stage bus operations into JB such as those operated by SBS Transit, SMRTB, Advance Coach and Transtar's Cross Border must first be granted with 'Stage Bus' or 'Bas Berhenti-Henti' permits issued by LPKP. SJE buses are given the 'Bas Ekspres' permits.

  Other buses that operates into Malaysia are considered 'Excursion Buses' or 'Bas Persiaran'. These includes the Singapore-registered 'express coaches' operated by Transtar Travel, Five Stars Tours, 707 Travel Group etc.
