A few days back i think i spotted a DM3500 installed with a third brake light. Seems like the DM3500s are going to be the successor bus for 170/160 MK IIIs?
still hoping KUBs do 170/160 ^^.
What is the bus reg plate? If that's the case, confirm likely to replace the MK 3

yeah was still hoping KUBs Batch 1 would replace them .. easier settle it for 10 over years ..
Might be replacing MKIII, since no one had seen KUB fixed with 3rd brake light. I also hoping that SBST can consider replacing with KUB Euro IV Batch 1 instead, since it's younger and can be use on 160/270 longer.
Cheers.
I think if SBST had intentions to use the EURO 4 KUBs for 160/170, they would have installed them since the purchase pharse. But I'll hope that SBST can buy MAN buses for cross boarder services in future, once the Volvo B10M MK4 DM3500 are pharsed out in a few years time...
But then we are in the major milestone of replacing buses for JB bus services again...
History:
Mercedes Benz OF1413 Volvo B57
Volvo B10M MK2 WA
Volvo B10M MK3 DM
I wonder if the K230UBs can actually do 170/160 in the future given the current conditions that some K230UBs are in now, replacing the MK IV DM3500s
Anyway, how does the new 3rd brakelight look like???
The KUBs have been seen doing trials at Larkin and Queen Street Terminal last year. Beats me if the trial runs were successful or otherwise.
Actually not a wise move looking at fleet movement..
The DM3500 could only be used for another 4 - 6 yrs.
KUB I think Queen St side fail le, but I think LTA is going to do overhaul for Queen St incl sheltered alighting bay.

looks the same as the current ones on the JB MK IIIs
I've personally seen an off service KUB at Queen Street. There don't seem to be a problem for the KUB to exit the terminal. The BC just have to remember to raise bus.

No. I bet new buses will replace these buses.

No chance, since the DM3500s are getting the 3rd brake lights already.

I confirm with a photo 2724 got the "butt light" and the SBS "Address card" on offside behind front axle

a K230UB went over to Malaysia? mm BBDEP bus i guess
but i wonder if the fleet of K230UBs, if deployed can actually survive the (harsh) cross border routes. given the current condition of the bodywork now, that's one of the concerns...=\
if in future will KUBs be ever used then it'll be a good testing ground to see how they perform..

Just like your civilian car? As long its not ferrying fare paying passenger or the public, should be ok.

No problem. Maju will roll out its own WAB bus service in the coming weeks. Operator of Larkin Sentral has completed the re-surfacing of the entrance to the terminal. The operator have announced during the launch of Maju's new WAB bus that it will start to upgrade the platforms.
