It has been there as long as I can remembered. The last time I saw them was in sec one than after no more seeing them. That was in 83 or early 84.

But at least you have a chance to sit on it. Think it was only there for a year for trial purposes...
1st air-conditioned SBS bus, MB O303. Total 8 of them, SBS1Z to SBS8E. Took it on 76 and 100 when I was young. Gone in early 1990s. Dun think they manage to get new life like our MBO405.

The Mercedes Benzes were originally from SABS, which ran as a luxury bus/coach from Paya Lebar Airport to the city. After SABS withdrew the buses, 8 went back to the parent company, while the others were sold.
The other pioneer aircon buses in the SBS fleet were a few Leyland Victories, which were rebodied with a new Soon Chow body and fitted with air-conditioning.
I remembered them on 76 too. But were they only based in Ang Mo Kio depot???
76 168 3 8 66 can anyone think of full air-con service that time in the 80s and 90s. Also the first air-con double decker bus at service 7. sbs 9000 s Leyland.
I missed the converted to air-con bus Leyland Victories. It more comfort than MB0303. air-con LV service I can remember was in service 8, 66 and sometime service 3

And 76 too.
As extracted from internet, some LVs were converted to Air-conditioned using British Duple 320 Design, built by Soon Chow. Service 76 was the 1st to use when it commerce service in March 1989.
Another photo showing on LV on service 3.
