Wheel or controller??

  Hi pple,
  
  Jus bought the Initial D Special Stage
  
  Wanna ask you pple out there with the GT steering wheel...is it worth it to get the steering wheel? Does the wheel controls feel like the arcade?
  
  Cos I feel that its quite hard to use the controller to control the car Jus want some advice before I commit money to buy the steering wheel.

  Hi there, i'm using a controller to play Initial D Special Stage.. I find it ok to control it with a controller, but if you want more realism, you should definitely get a steering wheel. But if you are having trouble controlling with the controller, maybe you should try tapping it lightly while turning. 1 thing about the steering wheel is that you can't turn as much as the arcade can turn and the steering wheel need to be clamp on a table, on your thighs or on the floor. I'm not sure if there's any gear stick for the Steering wheel set or not.

  the wheel uses paddles at the side to shift. it can only turn ninety degrees to both left and right and it has force feedback function. best setting for me is to use a table instead of knee attachment to free up the legs to step on the pedals. the pedals are super shiok by the way but the wheel feels ok only. and it has become a bit loose after much abusive use from me so care is needed now (dont want to spoilt it in less than a month's use!)...

  No gear thingy right ? Upshift ect use buttons ?

  I'm using a logitech wingman force feedback for playing initial d and the best part is, u can use it on your PC as well... compatable to GT3, kaidou battle and TXR I bought it at $130 +- forgot liaoz....

  no gear change stick but got gear change paddle behind the wheel on both left and right side...

  can the steering wheel turn like in the arcades? or just 90 degrees only as anson as said?

  That's cool! Can use for pc somemore.... they give an extra plug that fits into playstation 2?

  i gotten my wheels today. Logitech wingman force feedback. Not a bad wheel, comparing wheel and controller, wheel is much more better as you can have total control on the steering. I have to agree that the pedal rocks but i'm somewhat disappointed by the gear shifting because its at the back of the wheels. If you want to have a preview and feel of the wheel, take a walk around sim lim square, some of the shops have the wheels up for testing. Cheers~
