Will Initial D be a flash in a pan?

meaning... will Initial D the game able to last as a fad?
After a few months of playing, i feel that initial d has begun to phase out.
Taken a toll on my money though..
What you all think?
/thinking of buying the arcade machine and put at home -
I think it's a pretty cool game, but it does get damned expensive
I have not played it myself as I don't even have a chance to get near the machines... I saw at Bugis where they have $1 continues, the people there have about $50 in coins and they keep feeding the machines.
I think the game is bloody successful like this.. as for its longevity, who knows?
Personally, I prefer a good beat-em-up
looking forward to PS2's version of Soul Calibre II where they will feature Heihachi Mishima from the Tekken Series -

I think the game will last for about a year or less. It's fun but the price is too steep. Just like Daytona, where there are 8 machines together at Marina and everyone is playing against each other.. and now, nobody is playing that game and they even add in turbo and more laps to make the game more exciting.

Yeah.... hope that version 3 has more cars, more maps and tougher opponents..... And DC2's handling and speed has to go DOWN......

Well Daytona was a hugely successful game for its day and some still play it even today even though the turbo version is not that popular.
Initial D should last a long long time to come and it may even over take the longevity of Daytona because:
A) it has a strong gameplay and high replay value
B) it has a strong francise with many followers
C) it will attract even more players if the price comes down in the future
My personal opinion is ver 2 is the best racing title in the arcade now and possibly could only be bested by ver 3 if there is plan by Sega to make one. -
True.. i believe that initial d arcade game will last quite some time.. Cos it allows one to keep upgrading their cars which makes it soo special as compared to the other arcade games which does not use the card system. I will certainly hope to see Initial D ver 3 coming out soon!

The sooner Initial D becomes a Flash in a pan, the sooner we can expect a game that is more awesome than initial d and the thinner will my wallet get.

well personally i predict that ver 2 will be popular well into 2004 unless ver 3 does come out... now counting down to release of speacial stage!

Hehe... all those card system arcade is $1.50 per game.... Those $1 arcade 1 is either $1 start and continue or $2 start and $1 continue./......
