hey have any of you all heard of a local rock band chou pi jiang?
i was listening to UFM that day and junwei was interviewing them. and i was wondering how come i never really heard of them before.
i must admit i'm really not a rock band person. personally, i prefer mainstream pop, but during the interview they addressed some common misconceptions about rock bands and they also played some of their songs on air...and well, some of them were really not bad... one was a rap about the singaporean admin being so strict and stifling and all that. and i was thinking, hey, if such music can be a medium for such serious issues, then it is really worth listening to right?
too bad most of their songs are in dialect... that's why the radio couldn't really play a lot of their songs that day only the selected mandarin ones... but what i really mean to say is, too bad they're in dialect cos i can't understand dialect!! -

Yah I aso listen to that interview of chou pi jiang... err but frankly speaking I dun really like those rock band stuff... opps sorry... that's why I aso dun really like the Taiwan group ZIP but I like oni one of their ZIP's song the 'xing kong', if I am not wrong...
Err... but anyway it's a good try for having one local rock band... hope that they will suceed...

That guy's name is Ah Du...forgot the whole name...used to work in the construction industry as foreman or dunno wat...went for an audition and he got selected...his album sales not bad...gotten into top 20 charts of rose and tcr records.
As for Celest...reports said she sold 11,000 copies and boasting how good it is...however...her album has yet to enter the top 20 charts. So pls dun take her sales figures seriously.
The other new female singer is a pastor with city harvest...sun dunno wat. -
hmm.. chou pi jiang, if im not wrong, they are under a singapore independent record company call mouse record.. dun tink they do promo.. but album can be found in hmv.

The female pastor is called Sun He Yao Shan. Her songs are pop friendly and written by many Singaporeans like Xiao Han, Huang Yun Ren, Chen Wen Hua. Even Malaysian Yi Qi wrote a song for here.

Hello all...Tis below mentioned album was produced by Lin Weiwen(the writer of 'Ni Zui Zheng Gui' and the duet with Leo Ku and Gigi Leung) and me, the album will be officially released in singapore in May i think...
The album content is not preaching, it's a commercial crossover concept which is not new in western countries(e.g. the band POD, Amy grant, Jars of Clay etc)but it's kinda new in Tw, so u might wanna check it out...it's a bit of both worlds...
The songwriters are all musset writers(for those produced by us, there are 2 songs done by other taiwan producers), and tat explains the inclusion of Xiaohan, Boon hua, Yiqi all that...and there's also a song inside written by me n Jonathan Lee
Anyway just dropping by to say hi coz a fren of mine recommended me to check out tis site...

I got acquainted with some interesting music recently, which is like "monks" covering some songs in a "darker" way, harmonising a la Enya...well, that is a bad comparison, but hope someone gets what I mean...Can't quite remember the group though...

hi...it's not just me who wrote tat song, i wrote the song with sandy and xiaohan...other songs? err...quite a few, but some of those are 'I believe' by Liu Ruo Ying, 'Lan De Guan' by Karen Mok, there's a new trailer on 93.3 i think last week or something playing some of Karen's new songs frm her upcoming album, the 3rd one is mine...
then there's some in Sun's album and 4 other songs in sandy's aeroplane album...
Check out Penny's new album, i didn't write anything in there, but i arranged the 1st 2 songs in that album...i like those songs she wrote in the new album...TOday, i saw the MTV for the time spinning around song she wrote, it's very groovy, i like it...

I heard David Huang's stuff b4...that album he did with the drunk title, his most popular song...tat album has a lot of influence from Sting, an english artiste...go check out Sting's latest live album, and u know wat i mean...that sexy. lazy kinda hoarse voice tone thing...and the music is slightly very slightly jazzy...so if u like david huang, go check out sting...
